All you're doing is making him think he's done something wrong when he really hasn't. Yes he ate something he shouldn't have that resulted in him getting sick, but he doesn't know that. It's not his fault, he doesn't understand what's caused him to make the mess, and he's not going to no matter how much you yell at him.
Yelling at him while he is eating whatever it is that made him sick is fine. It will teach him not to go near it.
Yelling at him after he's been sick isn't going to accomplish anything.
