They should be illegal. My dog is freaking out cause no one in the area bothered to check whether any of the dogs or pets around here were scared by the things. Make them illegal, or more restricted. Stupid laws.I don't think that they should be completly illegal, but I think they should only be legal on certain days, like today and new year. I find it absolutly riddiculous that people have ben setting off fireworks here for the pase week.
This is the first timw my puppy is seeing fireworks. It's okay when she's in the house, because she just growls and barks at them. But yesterday when I took her for a walk and fireworks went off at the house we were walking by, she started whining and shaking; it scared her so much that she tried to run away, but when she realised that she was on a leash she just laid down an kept crying. I had to cuddle her and cover up her ears because she was literally paralised with fear and couldn't walk. It breaks my heart to see her like this
See, I want a carpet ban. I cannot stand seeing my dog like this, I am sure they don't need the bang in fireworks. We have the technology to make silent ones so why don't we? They add the bang for an effect, thats all. My dog has wrecked the house, he is a border collie and has taken a chunk out of my bedroom door, torn through the carpet and is led trembling under my stool on my room. He cannot stop drooling and panting as he is so scared. I have college tomorrow and wont be able to sleep until about an hour after they stop cause as soon as I move he panics and tries to follow. My music is full blast to keep him from hearing them. I have coursework to do that I can't do cause of the state he is in.
Honestly, I hate the things. I don't like them myself, I hate loud bangs and crashes, they terrify me and so I am almost as bad as him except I know they cannot hurt me. You can't teach that to a dog who was traumatized with them as a pup (he's a rescue dog). All I can do to help the poor guy is stroke him and keep music up loud. I actually feel helpless. I hate this time of year.
