Why is it the majority of human - realistic role playing characters have a history or addiction to harming themselves
and/or a history of being abused.

The amount of characters like these are quite disturbing.

What... what are you trying to tell me. How in the name of David Bowie are there children these days who haven't heard of all these awesome sauce things.
I actually pity they weren't raised shooting vorticons on Commander Keen (I recommend you download it, it's free and the freaking best game ever). And what kind of human being wasn't raised on movies like Labyrinth and The Lost Boys. How can there be children who don't know what a vinyl or tape is?

No but really, how can one be expected to function properly without being exposed to such great things?

I have three human characters.
The only one that has a some-what sad history is Emmett.
And that is only because he was adopted.

Other then that, all three of my characters are happy, normal people.

Having characters with sad stories isn't all that cool anymore if it was ever cool.
I would like to see more 'normal' characters.

Normal is the new original I guess.
