Found this in a book:

Bring treats to horses in fields and stalls. They love getting delicious treats to brighten their boring day.

That really ticked me off. Do you think I'd like it if a total stranger just came up to my prized mare while she was in her paddock and gave her a treat that may or may not be bad? Not to mention the risks of feeding a horse a treat with barley in it, or giving treats to an obese pony that's trying to be on a diet. Just not happy here X_X
And it goes for any other animal, too!

My mom totally flipped off on some people that were trying to feed our horses treats.

Not to mention it's just downright rude to barge onto someone else's property, even if it is over a fence, and feed their animal random treats without permission! For all you know, there may be some ingredient in the treat that the animal is allergic to! >_<
