Hehe I prefer being anchor, which is weird because I don't really like relays. I guess 100m isn't my best
race, it used to be but then i started running longer distances. :)

I usually run the 4x400 relays and apparently, I'm going to run the 4x800 too X(. The anchor is usually the fastest runner and I feel like I have to catch up if we're lagging.

Personally, I think the starter sucks, bc you start at the same at the same time as the other teams, so it's easier to compare you to others. I like 2nd and 3rd spot in relays(:

I agree that being the starter is terrible because for the 4x400, you have to stay in your lane. The 2nd and 3rd leg have the least pressure on them, in my opinion.

Yeah. I could never stand being first in a relay ,Rather than giving my team a good
start, I prefer "catching up" on anchor. cx

Oh my, finally people who run!

I can't sprint to save my life, but I've got pretty much endless stamina. This entire cross-country season there was something up with my shins, though it was more uncomfortable than pain, and I just tried to ignore it. Hopefully it doesn't come up next season, because it was quite irritating.

I also have terrible hand-eye coordination and can't throw a ball at all xD so running, swimming, and fencing are the only things I can do in terms of athletics.

Two questions:

My coach recommended buying racing flats next season, pros and cons of racing flats?

Anyone here who has been to Mt. SAC?

I run track and field C: I usually do relays, or anywhere between 100-400

I'm a sprinter, although I can do long distance. I also through javelin, and I do triple jump, high jump, and vaulting

Try icing your shins...

Pros: Makes you faster
Makes you feel faster
They look cool
They're lighter
They give you traction
Cons:
Generally expensive
I have been to Mt. Sac...I've run at the invitational and at CIF Prelims. I've also run at Fastback Shootout. Those hills are killer, especially poopout.

Thank you :3 I think I'm going to buy them, since my coach highly recommended it. I don't know why he didn't want me to buy them for freshman season, though...
And someone else who's been there and felt the pain! I know it sounds strange, but the hardest one for me was Reservoir, because there's one hill going up, a bit of flat distance, and then another slope. I sprinted up the first hill, thinking that it would all be downhill from there and I had to run as fast as I could, and to my dismay there was another uphill to get through >.<
