Yes. You heard me right.

Snow. In April.

And then it was 60F the next day.

*rages*

Agreed.

So, our first meet of the season got cancelled (and not rescheduled I might add =p, so we lost a meet) because of a snowstorm. It was April. It. was. not. time. to snow. *chases snow back in clouds* Anyways, so of course our next meets had to be freezing. It started snowing when I was running the 4x800 relay on our second meet. The weather was not good for our first ones, but it eventually warmed up thank goodness. The bad part about it warming up is when the wind is blowing in your face and your classmate thinks it's a good idea to put spray on sunblock right in front of you.

Agreed. There was an invitational (I didn't go to it b/c I have APs next week.) today and it's been miserable and raining. It was 80F earlier this week >.<

And double agreed about the wind. Hurdles are just sturdy enough to give you a good wacking if you mess your steps up, but not sturdy enough to withstand a sudden gust of wind. One of the smaller girls on the team got pushed over by the wind and tripped over two hurdles (next to each other in two lanes) but miraculously managed to stay on her feet.

It isn't too windy where I am but our best guy hurdler was injured because the runner next to him kept knocking the hurdles in his lane which messed up his step.

That wind is horrible. Good thing she stayed on her feet! ^^ I don't do the hurdles, but I watched this one girl from another school trip and fall over one. She finished the race, though, so that I was good, but it looked like it really hurt.

This was a few weeks ago, but I got fourth in district 300m hurdles! I PR'd, too. Everyone was super close. :3 Our school won the meet so I was happy.
Of course, in the FIRST race of the day, I disqualified my relay team. D: We were doing the 4x100... and I false started. I don't feel as bad now, but I felt so awful, I pretty much started crying (subtly, I didn't burst out sobbing). For two of the girls, that was their only race in district.

Oooh, this is the topic of my dreams. Why have you evaded me for so long ._.

I run both track and XC for my school, as well as for triathlons outside of school.
I'm more of a mid distance runner, the 800m being my best, but I do a fair amount of distance alongside.
'Course, I say my "best," but my times are still stinkin' slow. Fast for 2A, which is what my school is, but compared to everyone else.... yeah not so much.
I have also done a fair amount of jumping- only the long though. I'm horrible at it, but I have super long legs and my coach has this idea that I can do it really well with a bit more practice. The problem? My little 2A school doesn't even own our own (lolz) track, netherless a pit.

State is this week for me- yayyyy. I'm in for the 4x800. Just this past weekend I PRed by over 13 seconds on my leg, but am so worried I'm going to go slower for the most important race of the season ;n;

Ah well, still have lots of room to grow. I was on Varsity XC and am on varsity track right now, and I still have three years to go (I am a FM right now)

These two guy hurdlers with a rivalry did that during our last home meet. The shorter one was...aggravated (to say the least XD)

Agreed. I swear, with no friend in track, it's like living in a prison cell. My friends are like, "Val, stop running, you don't need to run the whole neighborhood just to get going for the day." Ad I'm like, "Oh, you guys should run with me, see how you feel awake after it." It's just really annoying...
