My best time for the 1600 was 6:11, and for the 2400 10:00. If I had stayed, I probably would've improved a bit more. c:

But I do love to run, and I do it still.

wow!! for a mile and 2 miles they are pretty good times.

I agree, you beat my PR by two seconds! >:) But I've never run the 2400. I probably will someday, though.

I do long distance in middle school track. My best time is 6:42 for the mile, and 3:08 for the 800. Ever since I broke my arm, I haven't been able to do any sprints or field events, or I would do hurdles.

I used to run track in elementary school, and I want to make the varsity xcountry team at HS next year, which I've just begun to start training for. Do any of you have any tips for training for xcountry?

I ran track starting in fourth grade and I ran track for my county in seventh grade (100m + 200m events, tried 400m). I tried out in middle school for my school but didn't make it, so oh well. I ended up running at a state competitions against those three+ years older than me and managed to make it into the top 200 of the state with a time of 14.91 or something (woot...).

We did mile runs last year for school, and I was second girl (first place girl was my friend who ran multiple times a week for swimming) to make it, sixth in total out of... like... thirty. I think my time was 9:45 or something. Dang, I was proud.

Tips for XC training would of course be to keep hydrated and to always go to practice. And do weight training. That's all I know or now...work hard!

I ran xc through Junior High. My best times were...uhm...around the smaller 14 minues or 13...probably less. I do not remember. As for track both years; my coach gave me the 1400, 4x4 and 400. I am NOT a sprinter and my times there were not very good. I plan on conditioning a lot before entering varsity track. I am still not sure about it as I am not competitive and not very quick. Xc is iffy too. I will really need to condition before that as I need to add the extra distance.

I hope you mean 14/13 minute 2 miles, not 3 because a 14 minute 3 mile could win state championships where I am O_o...
