Do you have a loved one that has/had Cancer?

Postby MixMatch94 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 9:11 am

Sadly I do,it runs in my family. I have serval members in my family with cancer.I resently lost an great aunt and an uncle in 2009 from cancer(I know my uncle died of skin cancer but I'm not 100% sure about my great aunt). My dad was diganose last summer with skin cancer and my mom had several different types of cancer and was diganosed several years ago before I was born. Its hard to have an love one going through the ruff times of cancer. Gladly my dad catched his at an fairly early stage and my mom is still doing quite well.
I've been meaning to make this thread back in September 2009 when my uncle and great aunt passed away. But it was hard for me to get over that to even think about making this thread. I just want to have a little place for this type of thing. If you ever had anyone with cancer, you are more then welcome to talk about it^^ If you are a cancer survior, you're welcomed here too. You can also dedicate people here that had sadly lost the battle with cancer.

I only know two loved ones who had cancer, both survived, but I'll list one.

My grandmother had stage 4 cancer, I'm not sure what type, but it's really deadly, and she only had 4 months to live, then in a few months she recovered, she had 4 months to live and it's been 10 years. :3 The doctor said that she was the only one he knew who survived stage 4 cancer. Dx

@♥Moonswirl♥- Aww sorry about your grandfather, but I'm so glade he is still going strong^^

@Damian- I aqctully saw my uncle a week before he passed away. He didn't look like the uncle that I remembered. I feel so bad for not even getting to say good bye to him. Thats what I get for living 12 hours away from most of my family >.<

@Albino!- I've seen so many times doctors puting an expiration date on someone and they live longer then what they said. I'm glade to hear your grandmother is still living^^

Lets see my grandfather had lung, stomach, and kidney cancer (died) my other grandfather now has colon cancer (living). One of my grandmothers had ovarian cancer (died) the other had melanoma (lived). A cousin had breast cancer three times and killed the third time. My aunt has had breast cancer twice (survived both) and is now in stage two of "bowel" cancer. Meaning it has spread to other organs including the colon and lining of the stomach. She has one daughter, and this aunt lost her husband about a year ago to a massive stroke. The doctors say that no one has ever recovered from this type of cancer and not even chemo therapy can kill/ slow it. So yeah my family has definitely been hit by it.

My grandma was 63 when she passed away over 4 years ago. She had hip problems as well as many different wide-spread cancers, including lung cancer and liver cancer. When I visited her, which I didn't get to do often, (I live in MO and she lived in CA) she looked over 80. I was so sad, and she couldn't even talk because of the lung cancer making it hard to breath. A few months after our visit, she sadly passed.
Now my grandpa, who is 70, has lung cancer. They found spots on his lungs but first thought they were remnants of some other disease, but they just figured out it is cancer and it is spreading all over his body.... He also has emphysema. He looks so old now, at least 90, and he can barely do anything active because he starts to cough so hard. He used to go canoeing on his river and garden. He to lives in CA so I can't visit that often, and I am scared we are going to lose him soon.....

My Grandpa died of skin cancer in 2002 or 2003. I loved him so much, but didn't know just how much I needed him until he was gone. We think he got it from working out in the field all the time. So this year I started a Relay For Life team in honor of him. Here's the link to our team page: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/Relay ... r_id=21529 . I messed up and now our goal thingy is set to like zero dollars, but our actual goal is like 8 or 9 hundred. I am the team captain if you want to donate to the American Cancer Society through me. Or you could just donate through the team if you want to donate at all. You don't have too, but the Cancer Society helps people a lot.

Wow! I typed a lot! I didn't think I would type that much. Sorry!

95 percent of teens would cry if they saw the Jonas Brothers at the top of a skyscraper about to jump. Copy and paste this if you are one of the 5 percent who would sit there with popcorn and a camera and yell "DO A FLIP!"

99.9% of teenagers would go insane if Edward, Bella and Jacob died. If you are the 0.1% who would be screaming "FINALLY!" at the top of your lungs, put this in your signature.

90% of the teens today would die if myspace had an error and closed. If you're one of the 10% who would be laughing, copy and paste this into your sig.

One of my grandfathers had lung cancer but he didn't survive. But he died in 2001, so I have gotten over it now.
