Does anyone know how long it takes for FictionPress to post a story? I submitted one but it hasn't been posted yet and I want to go to sleep but I want to see it posted first, ugh, I am tired, post my story already, site! Or did I do something wrong? Gah, I hate being new on sites.

Eh, I'm pretty good with cats, but not so good at dogs. I haven't had many dogs, so that's probably why I'll try to get them to listen to me for a while, but then I'll just sorta give up. ._. I'm not really a dog person, either, and I don't really know much about dogs in general.

Annoyance: It's late, and I want to stay up. But it's not like I wouldn't just mess around if I stayed up too late. I've been putting my homework off for as long as possible lately. When did I get so lazy?

I don't have any particular reason for feeling so negaative today, I've just had this vague feeling of exhaustion and irritation and general sickness all day, I just feel bad, I don't understand why.

I'm the only person I know that at least has basic knowledge about cat breeds. I could list a good few breeds and tell some identifying features about the breed. Most of the people I know can only maybe list Maine Coon, Siamese, and American shorthair if they're lucky, while I can say that my cat is a Russian Blue, and go on to say that I know this because of her vivid green emerald eyes, *obviously* her sleek blue-grey coat, her medium, graceful build, her dark grey paw pads and nose, and her large, triangular ears, for starters.

It disappoints me that a lot of people think cats are just cats, and that they don't have different breeds, or they simply dismiss all cats to be "some sort of mixed breed", while they can probably identify a quite a few dog breeds. The truth is, if you look into it, you'll realise that some cat breeds are as different as night and day. Take the hairless Sphynx, which, somewhat ironically, originated in Canada, and compare it to the long haired Persian. They can't possibly both be "just cats" of the same "breed". /somewhat pointless rant.

I don't know many breed names, but I can certainly tell them apart. xD

What I pride myself on is knowing cat behavior.

I can coax the shiest of felines over to at least sniff my finger and sit arm's length away from me. Not tensely crouch, comfortably sit. I've had a few funny conversations with cats that way. ("So how's your day been?" "Meow." "Catch anything interesting?" "Meow." "That's pretty cool." "Meow." "I'm actually really impressed." "Meow.")


What bugs me the most is the people that use dog body language to attempt to communicate with cats and then blame the CATS for freaking out and running away.


...No. You do not bellow a greeting and march right up to kitty's face with your steel-toed boots and expect it to respond in a receptive manner. That's scarier than mimes that don't value personal space.

I don't really get the whole "Cat person" "dog person" thing. I was born with cats, but I still love dogs equally. Although they do give me the strangest looks when I try to communicate with them. xD I guess I have a strong "cat accent" in my body language. Oh well. I have the best patience for puppy teeth, belly rubs, and fetch, so they usually think I'm all right. :B

Annoyance. Hmm. Well, I don't want to seem like I'm targeting the above user, but I guess it does bug me when people say, "I'm a [pethere] person."

...So, like, you aren't allowed to love any other animal because you're on, like, what, "The Dog Team"? That makes no sense at all. >_< This isn't some sort of weird competition. Even if it was, there aren't any prizes. Spread your horizon a little.
