Cake decorating tips?

ok so got put in charge of making my aunts wedding cake (my mom volunteered me XD) i took a beginners cake course like 2 summers ago...but not at all good at it XD any one have any easy tips to make a cake look good? besides go to a professional? XD

If you need to use frosting, put it in a plastic Ziploc bag and seal it. Then, cut a tiny hole in one of the bottom corners.

I took a total of three cake decorating courses sometime back when I was in High School, which would probably be around a few years ago, . . . I remember some of the basics, but it's really something that you have to be able to see to be able to learn it better. It'd be wise to refresh your memory by looking up guides online, or perhaps locating some tutorials on Youtube. It takes a lot of patience, so don't be discouraged if things don't look right when you're practicing.
