Chinese New Year 2012!Year Of The Dragon.

Postby Cane » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:13 pm

I want to say happy Chinese new year to all the Chinese/Asian user of CS! :) 2012 is the year of the dragon.
Usually on Chinese New Years my family would cook different food and give each other red envelopes filled with money.
Where I am Chinese New Years is on Monday.(January 23)

Our family hosts a party for CNY every year c:
In fact, it's going on right now. Everyone is out of my age group, so I'm sort of sulking around on the Internet and feeling tired.
We basically cook up a bunch of food and invite several families over, and I usually only eat the dumplings and this dessert where you combine fruit and some sort of jello that's sweet :B

Happy CNY! :3
We don't do much, just cook a special dinner, get our red envelopes, etc.
My year was last year. (Year of the Rabbit, correct? :P)

Didn't have time to celebrate on the eve, since my piano teacher always makes group piano lessons on holidays, so we did today ^^ duck, rice, some sort of vegetable that I can't pronounce, and pork, like the usual...

No red envelopes {yet} this year. It's ok, I'm not actually looking for any. I would have forgotten if my friends hadn't been talking about it at school.

But, Happy New Year everyone!

I don't remember the last time I've been to a special party...I believe that perhaps I did when I took Chinese school a long, long time ago (I quit because I have no Asian determination and competitiveness XP )

My year was a few back...
