Crazy Things You Thought As A Young Kid

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh...... Which one? I used to flip through an animal encyclopedia, imagining how a child could be raised by each one, even by termites.

I used to daydream about the apocalypse. I'd imagine it starting when someone would break into the house, and accidentally set the house on fire, then I'd through out all our valuable stuff out the window. Then at some point the house would flood to the ceiling. And the intruder and a cougar(?) would chase me. And I'd jump out the window from the second story and the porch would collapse. And somehow I'd survive, and a volcano would erupt. And civilization would collapse. And no joke, I was like nine.

I think I just enjoyed imagining adventure scenarios. Like how would I survive being in a cement room with no openings, and nothing but myself to survive? How long would it take before I loose air or starve before I could find a way out? What if I was in a cage falling through the ocean and a shark was attacking? Would it be possible to escape in time?

I'd imagined saving the planet by building a synthetic planet far away with a solid sphere making a "bubble" around atmosphere, allowing people to pollute as much as the want WAY over there, while Earth could just be a utopia without those people. But what are long term effects of pollution in space outside our planet?

I also thought cars were evil. And was upset once when my mom was picking seedlings, comparing it to killing babies and begging her to transplant them. And accused god of animal abuse during Sunday school when I heard he only allowed two of each animal (destroying the rest of them), when they were innocent and the flood was made to punish humans. And I probably thought much more that I'd forgot over time.

1) If I left my door open while I was sleepign, evil spirits would come in and kill me

2) That when you had to go somewhere while on a plane, I thought that the plane would literally go to outer space

3) If I swallowed any sort of seed, the seed would grow and eventually the fully developed plant would of grown until it got outside my mouth

3. There was a black widow (poisonous spider) at my school and it was mad at me because I killed it.

1. Although I didn't genuinely believe monsters were under my bed, I took the precaution of a running start and jumping onto my bed (and making sure every inch of me was covered in blanket) anyway.
2. As a general rule, I wasn't afraid of dolls. However, when I was moving into my first step-dad's house when I was about seven, there was this one doll that was sitting on a shelf that scared me for no particular reason. I'd usually remembered it as a dream, but my mom had told me that they really did have to remove a doll from the room because I was scared.
3. I had a fear of dead bugs. Specifically DEAD bug, not bugs in general. I hated killing bugs, partially because I always felt like they would suddenly come back alive and bite me. (okay, that last one was more like in my preteen-to-mid teen years)

I always thought that tv shows/movies/books were real (honestly, I still think they are, just in some sort of alternate universe) and I distinctly remember one day watching Berenstein Bears and wondering why I didn't have black lines on the edges of my arms because I didn't realize that animation and live action were different things . . . .

I thought if I stood on a fence and waved my arms around and said some random word I could control the wind.

I thought that Chuckie Cheese's was Chunky Cheeses until a few years ago. I'm not kidding.

I thought that a "fist bump" was a "fish bump".

My brother used to think that if he couldn't see you when we were playing hide and seek, then you couldn't see him. So he would lay down somewhere on the ground and close his.

Also, I thought that my brother and my cousin would get married when they grew up????? Why I thought that is beyond me since they barely even liked each other.

I feel like I should probably mention that I still believe in inanimate objects being alive (I have a pet ball moss named Mulder), alternate dimensions, magic, supernatural creatures and Santa Claus.
