PICKLES are CUCUMBERS, I did not know this until like a day ago!! Went through the five stages of grief when I found out, I literally thought they were their own separate entity! Like, why aren't they called pickled cucumbers??? Like, pickled eggs are called pickled cucumbers. I feel betrayed.

I just recently learned that a fork in the road does not mean a literal fork stuck in the road. I always thought it meant a fork (utensil) and it always confused me. I'm far too old to have not known that💀

There is a creature known as the giant isopod! It is a massive, shark-eating sea creature related to the woodlice you find in the garden. Some species can grow up to 40cm, can roll up into a ball like their land cousins, but are solitary unlike woodlice. Don't look them up unless you're not scared of bugs, their nickname is sea cockroach and they are quite scary, even for someone who likes and is used to arthropods like me.

i just learned this a few months ago myself. i had no idea what i thought pickles where that whole time. did i think they were its own vegetable? pickles come from the ground naturally pickled? or did i just not ever think about how pickles are pickles?
