- My first video game was Star Wars Battlefront II for the PS2, it was also my first console. It's what sparked my initial interest in video games, but the games that really kept me playing were Pokemon games, specifically the gen 4 games, platinum, heart gold- along with Pokemon black really got me hooked. These, along with mmo's like Animal Jam, Club Penguin, and the like.

- No, not particularly.

- Well the mmo's were very social based, no real objective. Pokemon was open- but there was still the main goal of beating up other kid with monsters until you became the ultimate kid with monsters.

- I did quite a bit, and I had a few friends who used to enjoy them, but did quickly grow out of them and mock me later on for continuing to play them. However I also had others who continued to play them into adulthood like me.

- I can't remember anything specific when it relates to video games. I lived a very sheltered life so I always mistook my attraction for admiration. I do remember being vaguely attracted to several video game characters- from what I can remember there was Cynthia from pokemon d/p/p, and.. well that's all I can really remember. It didn't do much to "awaken" me, and I would only be able to recognize this as attraction later in life through reflection.

I am asexual, tendency to like all genders, but I prefer male

Female

-Were you raised in early to middle childhood as male, female, or gender neutral?
They tried to raise me as a female - didn't work though

-What video game consoles did you grow up with? In addition to consoles/devices, what games were the most influential to your childhood/development?
I had a Nintendo DS and DSi ; a Wii; a PS1 and PS2
The most influential was Pokemon I guess and Bubble Bobble and Need for Speed

-Did you feel as though the games that were most influential to your childhood were "feminized"?
No, the exect opposite. It was a "guy game" in my class. I was laughed at because I was a girl playing games made for boys.

-What were the goals/themes of the games you played?
I sometomes playes time managed games or games where you will get somethign for doing the right thing.
But I mostly played open based games, for examples Nintendogs. You can do whatever you want, raise them right or not.
Pokemon kinda had a storyline but you could also just go around and chase Pokemon the whole day.

-Growing up, did you ever play games related to the Pokémon franchise? If so, how did your peers feel about you playing these games?
Yes I did. I played all the Pokemon games available for the Nintendo DS and all started with Pokemon Diamond. As I said it was a game for "boys" so yeah noone really liked it. And I was considered as weird. Even boys thought it was weird that I was a girl playing Pokemon.

-As a kid, did you feel any romantic awakening/queer awakening related to a video game character?
Not really I got my "awakening" in some other way
