I hate animal abuse! There are those commercials for organizations that help abused animals, with the footage of the pets who were abused, and the sad music. I cry when I see those.

Really any kind of punishment can be abuse. A slap on the snout or nose to punish,
No more treats no mire food cause he peed on the furniture,
Take his toys away cause he chewed through a shoe,
Stolen hats stolen shirts stolen pants stolen bras
Then take away walks and maybe put booties on the poor thing (yes booties on an animal is abuse to me lol)
So ya punishment can sonetimes be abuse. If the animal is agressive you cant be like stop and theyll stop animals thibk differently remeber. You have to show them yoy ate alpha sonetines inborder for them to stop their behavior

The people who voted for the top one are only trying to get on your nerves. I don't think any animal abusers would be on CS. They probably wouldn't join a kids site.

As for animal abuse. It's terrible. But making a thread on some kid's site isn't exactly gonna do anything. Yeah, it would spread awareness about animal abuse, but will it actually stop those sick minded people who abuse animals?

I think if someone has abused an animal, they should get whatever they did to that animal done to them. For example...

Hit a dog with a baseball bat = They get hit with a baseball bat
Drown a cat = They get drowned.

I agree that joining movements or volunteering at local abuse shelters (SPCA for example) is much more productive. As posting here does not really spread awareness, as most people here know about it. But getting people to look at things such as this or this would help. They both share great ideas and ways you can help. ^-^

I personally don't agree animals have rights. (In my opinion animals should not be given rights, but rather welfare.) But that's just my opinion. (Because if my dog was allowed to not get her shots because she didn't want to, she could be dead. Or if she could roam around because she wanted to, she would be dead. But welfare are laws protecting her and giving her the rights to food, water, shelter, and care.) And if we were to do the same to them as they did, wouldn't we be the same? Prison in my mind is much more adequate. (:

Please just try to get it stopped, animals have feelings to just like humans.

OK, I have a few things to say about this.
For starters, yes, animal abuse is pretty cruel. But Alois does have a point, anything could be considdered animal abuse to someone.
Even self-defense.. I admit. I have kicked an animal before. The rabbit was attacking me! D: It bit me then started chasing me and growling, I had nothing else to do rather than turn and kick the thing, it's not like I had hurt it internally or anything, but that sure stopped it. That could be considdered aimal abuse.
And, I've thrown rocks at birds before. They dive bomb any one or any thing-even cats mind you-and their claws leave pretty nasty scratches.
Dicipline or even dressing your pet could be considdered abuse, too.
The definition of abuse:

The improper use of something.

'Impropper' is such an opinion that it can vary for people.
some might agree with a tap on the nose for dicipline, some might think it's impropper use of the animal.
Same goes for scolding.
And dressing your pet.
and even eating any kind of animal, some people might think that's impropper use, no?
As well, I'm sure people who abuse animals in any way think that there is no wrong in doing it-that's their opinion, it's the same as anything listed above. Some people even lack the ability to feel empathy and therefor can not help it.

As for stopping the people that really need to be stopped, and kick puppies for no apparent reason, beat on their cat when they simply did nothing wrong, or other cruel things, then for starters, get off the internet.
You could actually adopt from the shelter, fund orginizations, or simply call animal control/shelter/bluh when you see someone abusing their pet in such wrong ways.
And I don't see how one word could stop it, as the OP says.
People break laws, and not a million words of the world could stop them all.
Plus, some animal abusers might be dangerous.
Interfereing might put your life and/or health in danger.

And I agree with boxedsprouts as well, I dont believe animals should have too many rights other than the right to live.
