I've done volunteer work at a vets and euthanised a fox that I found on the roadside. Mangled, bloody and broken, it came to me instead of running, so I suffocated it with a plastic bag. I have experience.

I hate wild horse riding. So many horses die from it. We put random straps on them, throw a random person on them, and then turn them loose. Half of the time the horses die from slamming to the ground. They're scared, and it should never, EVER happen to any horse. The wild horse races and such are cruel and abusive. Have you seen the videos? The horses do not enjoy it. They kill themselves in attempt to get a rider off of their back! Some are shocked so that they buck! How is that humane? Would you like to be shoved in a chute, have a heavy rider on your back, be used to the wild, and be shocked? Bronc riding is as far from humane as it can get.

I saw your sig wolfgang, Pitbulls should be pulled into this. I love pitbulls and EVERYONE I know says they are mean and attack people. But they are just like other dogs, I dont get some people

Pitbulls are the same as any other dog, if they are raised properly and treated well they will be loving dogs. If they are treated like viscious dogs they will become one, they have to be respected by their owners not feared/abused. But since they are bred to fight they are liable to turn occasionally but that's not their fault. In the uk you need a licence to own a pitbull, one time the rspca had to put 5 puppies to sleep because they couldn't find somone with a licence in their given time limit-- a waste of 5 lives.

Some rodeos are cruel, not all. The horses are bred to do that sort of thing and are well trained to do so. With the exception of wild horse racing which I think is really cruel. The phsycological effect on the horses must be horrific.

Ok, my mother and aunt were talking about how people think its not humane to put a bunch a people in a jail cell. My thoughts were "Its not humane to do that, but we keep animals in cells with more than 3! And its humane to kill animals with those overdoeses of medication to give them caridac arest?" No, and then theres Puppy mills. Have you guys seen thoses things? Its horrible! How about rodios? Some of them abuse there animals! Alot of animals die in rodios, horses, bulls, and even the baby bulls! It makes me cry! Really! :cry:
How 'bout that animal testing with Medication? I hate it! It kills them too!

Puppy mills... are disgusting. NO, im not saying that the people who run them are disgusting, I will respect them, but seriously, the animal's living conditions are disgusting, and the owners and breeders need to learn how to take care of their pets. They should get enough money from selling the animals to offer propper and nice conditions most of the time, and if they dont, then, they should stop breeding, whats the use in it if they get so little money that they cant care for their pets? Usually those people see animals as objects-as money, and I mean there isnt anything wrong with that, dont shoot me for this refference, not trying to start fights or start up a conversation about it, but take hunting for an example. They kill the animal, and sell its parts for money. And people can sure see animals as money or in any way they want, but they should atleast treat their 'money' well. Hunting, the animal is done for in two if not one shot and thats respectable. But for people to force the animal to live in disgusting conditions, cramped in wire cages so that they dont have to spend much to recieve their money, then they need to be stopped. and a lot of times they are, a lot of times they arent.

Any abuse or slow/inhumane death of an animal is cruel, that sums up the rodeo part.

And testing on animals is needed. To find cures, make products, and many other things. But, the animals should be kept in propper conditions. [ex : clean water, fresh food, shelter, etc.]

Van, any dog can snap. Any dog is dangerous. The reason Pits are the way they are is both in their name and our fault. Pitbull TERRIER. Terriers are known for being snappy, horrible dogs. We're just used to the Jack Russell Terrier or the Yorkshire Terrier, not a terrier as big as a pitbull. We just harnessed their natural terrier personality and turned something that could have been beautiful, into something ugly.

Some pit bulls were bred to fight, not all. Any dog can bite. Any can snap. Pit bulls are just like every other dog, they don't have this random mean streak that makes them more vicious than other dogs. Dog fighters took advantage of their strength and trained them to fight. If they had chosen labs to fight instead of Pit bulls, then labs would be stereotyped with the 'killer' quality.
It really makes me angry when people group all the pit bulls together in their mind and deem them all vicious, killing, wretched creatures.
All dogs can bite someone. Heck, Van, just because YOUR dog bit you doesn't mean all of the Pit bulls in the world will do the same! You probably did something to the dog, anyway, since you seem to hate the whole breed altogether. Why own a pit bull if you hate every one that exists and call them all killers?
Plenty of dogs bite people. Guess what? THEY ALL AREN'T PIT BULLS.
Geez. I know this is a debate and all, but I can't stand it when people say... that.

They were not trained to fight, they were bred and developed for the purpose of fighting.
And Im not saying that only pitbulls can snap.
and it wasnt even my dog. e.e It was my aunts. I walked past it and it lunged. I dont hate the breed, I just dont really love dogs all together if I have to see them in person and up close.

Van, pit bulls were TRAINED to fight. They didn't randomly develop all these skills and put themselves in a pen and start killing the other dog. They are trained.

I think it is horrible when this happens! I adopted a dog from the puppy mill (she was rescued and staying at a breeders) she absolutely hates her crate, because when she was app she was trapped in a cage almost all her life.
