Animal Debate

Postby Palaye Royale » Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:39 am

Ok, my mother and aunt were talking about how people think its not humane to put a bunch a people in a jail cell. My thoughts were "Its not humane to do that, but we keep animals in cells with more than 3! And its humane to kill animals with those overdoeses of medication to give them caridac arest?" No, and then theres Puppy mills. Have you guys seen thoses things? Its horrible! How about rodios? Some of them abuse there animals! Alot of animals die in rodios, horses, bulls, and even the baby bulls! It makes me cry! Really!
How 'bout that animal testing with Medication? I hate it! It kills them too!

So, what are your opinoins?

Please do not talk about hunting. This topic is not about that

Animal testing for medicine is needed and therefore set aside. The animals used are, a lot of the time, properly taken care of and bred into this. Old photo's you see of live cats with their skulls broken open were more than likely from an older time.

my sister works at a vet clinic.....she's sent me pictures via text message and told me disturbing stories. I'd tell y'all a few but it'd take far too long and I don't wanna make anyone sick. I spend my days watching Animal Cops and internet research.(don't ask why. I just do) I've seen things, up close and personal, that I wish I wouldn't have. my neighbors...I swear sometimes I wanna call the police on them! I've seen them physically abuse their dog(s). then there's my cousins. their dogs are in such horrible shape! we now own two of their dogs.(they'd more than likely be dead if we wouldn't have gotten them)

On to animal testing. honestly, it depends on HOW and WHY they're testing on them. if it's for medical reasons and is done humanely then I see nothing wrong with it. if it's for beauty products/ect then it's just sick.

If your sister is taking photographs of injured animals that she doesn't own and sends them to you then she is not doing her job properly, it also isn't allowed, plus anyone who didn't enjoy seeing animals suffer wouldn't photograph, preserve, and boast about it. |:

If your neighbours are abusing their animals, call the police / SPCA.

Every rodeo I've been to and particiapated in has been humane. The animals are all fed well and taken care of. If somthing does happen to a steer or bull...well guess what's for dinner. That's just how it is.
I live on a farm. I hate when people complain about stuff they know nothing about and call it animal abuse. Get over it. If you wanna eat than deal.
I do not agree with cosmetic testing on animals. I think it's gross and disturbing.
Puppy mills are a disgrace. They breed unhealthy dogs over and over and need to be put out of bussiness.
If an animal went into cardiac arrest when it is put down, it wouldn't die slowly and quietly. I've had some of my goats go into cardiac arrest and they scream and flop around before they finally die.
We can't keep every single animal on Earth alive. It would cause even more issues if we did that because disease would spread and they'd all end up being wiped out.
Most animals do have a lower intelligence then people and that's why people justify using them for testing. Even though I don't agree with some of it.

Back to the rodeos. If you have seen stuff on tv and online, it's likely that PETA or some other animals rights people of photoshopped, or staged the pictures and videos. Those people are throughly insane.
If you have seen it first hand...ok, some rodeos do have issues. But as I said before, most are not abusive.
Why would you let somthing get hurt thats making you money?

Cupcake, it's COSMETIC animal testing you should be against, not medical.

ditto! only one of my friends understands. it's horrible what people say about APBTs. as I said my sister works at a vet. I've met MANY pitbulls who were brought in. we are fostering an APBT mix right now, and she's the sweetest darn thing ever!! most of the "pits" who come to the vet are bait/fighting/puppy mill dogs. they have sad stories and GREAT personalities!! it's amazing that dogs as sweet as they could have been through something so.....sick.

police/vets/ect take photographs for court. and she isn't the acual vet. she doesn't really have a specific job, she just does what they need her to do. and what makes you say "anyone who didn't enjoy seeing animals suffer wouldn't photograph, preserve, and boast about it."? I never said she enjoyed it  she comes home crying sometimes. do have any idea how hard it is to have to put an animal to sleep because it was beaten so hard? trust me, I've sat in the waiting room, I've brought her her lunch. I've seen what comes into that clinic. it ain't pretty. dogs' eyes out of socket, and the owner is out of town. the brothers and sisters bring it to the vet three days after an attack....it gets way worse. you don't even want to know what happened to the SWEETEST dog on eartch. bait dog. that's all Im gonna say.
