Invertebrate Owners and Fans

Postby Rainbow Dash » Wed Dec 28, 2011 11:58 am

Doesn't matter if you got tarantulas, scorpions, hermit crabs, stick bugs, or roaches, if it's buggy and lacks a spine it's welcome!

One request; please do not come in here and go "EWWW BUGS SPIDERS GROSS." This thread is for owners and fans to talk.

I'll start. I do not own any inverts right now, I have owned four hissing roaches and I would love to get a red-knee tarantula or leaf insect in the future.

Feel free to show off your creepy crawlers! Pictures are more than welcome.

I'd love to own a hermit crab. Kind of small, but still so cute! I'm a fan.

I plan on getting a pair of Emperor Scorpions sometime in the new year. :3 Or just one, if there's only one at the reptile show I saw 'em at.

You can get them at most pet stores. Be sure to get a black light, scorpions glow under them and it's super cool.

In the summer I like to to take care of the spiders outside. We get plenty of funnel-weaver spiders where I live (Not to be mistaken for the deadly funnel web spider).
Spiders are definitely my favorite animals, but my favorite of them is the jumping spider. they are so cute!

I don't see how anyone can call that ugly.

I couldn’t count on anyone to stand there behind me
And keep the dogs from dragging me off with them
While I slept you crept in and pulled the rug right out from under me
Then the rain stole away and took the parts that kept me functioning

My heart will be blacker than your eyes when I’m through with you

I've always loved invertebrates. I had a pet Madagascar hissing roach for 6 years, and have had a variety of spiders and other things since, including a black widow.

I have several Triops, which is all for now. I've thought about getting a stick bug, but there was something about them that I wasn't so sure about. Might also be getting a snail, although I need to see how it would do with the Triops. I used to have a terrestrial snail several years ago, and he was simply adorable. I could always go out and pick another one out of a garden I suppose, but I think I would like an aquatic one.

Oh man, Triops. I had those as a kid. One of them ate all the other ones and became a monster triop.

I had a mystery snail for my college betta tanks. I took some macro shots of it I need to find.
