Oh dear I haven't ridden since Saturday. It's weird, it feels like something is missing almost. I was with horses all day Sunday, just not riding. Anyways, I am looking forward to my lesson with Danyna today. Last week we worked on flat, and the week before as well, and I'm pretty sure we are working over jumps again today. Too bad the outdoor arena probably isn't dry yet... We haven't been able to get out there yet, everytime it's almost dry we have another heavy rain downpour. It sucks, I want summer already!

It's... really amazing. I don't jump very high, the highest I've jumped is just over 2 feet I think, and barely at that. But Danyna is still learning, and we've been doing cavalettis at all three heights for a while. Jumping is really hard, and it changes from horse to horse. For Danyna, she rushes forwards but won't always break stride over them if it's down low on the ground. So usually I have to hold her back, then release the step before and give a squeeze. But she's getting better, last time we jumped she was amazing, all the horses were. I barely had to hold her back at all, she stayed straight and everything.

Jumping itself really feels like they are taking and extra-big canter step, and in the middle it's really smooth.

What's barrel racing like? I've always really wanted to try it, and I might get to this summer.

Jumping on Uman is... interesting. Even my trainer has trouble with it. xD He practically throws himself over the jump, and then lands very low on his front. It feels OK at first, but then you get jerked back and then forward. xD He is getting better, though, with some practice. I don't particularly like jumping him, because it isn't very comfortable, but it really works your shoulders. You gotta hold 'em back harder then what seems possible. And you have to jam your heels down as far as they go. :p I love jumping on most other horses, though. I jumped three feet with the Quarter Pony I used to lease all the time. The highest I've jumped was 3'6, on a sweet horse named Flannel. Sadly, he got skin cancer - I think it was called melomina? Melonia? Melonamina? I'm not sure - on his face, so he got retired early. ;_; I cried that day. But I don't even ride at the barn he is at anymore.

I'd love to jump. (: I do barrels, but my barrel buddies jump bareback all the time, so I always feel very left out. :(

I know I'm not the person your talking to but barrel racing...is...barrel racing. The speed, the turns, the turns, you pull all the way to your pocket. And then stick the "inside" leg into his side, to keep him off the barrel, then tap, tap, tap with the "outside" leg to push around the barrel. It just so...so...awesome, I love it to pieces and poles are awesome, poles are basically side pass, side pass, side pass, six times, and then the final turn is a barrel turn. If you get to ride the barrels, lemme know, I would love to hear what you think.

PS: Western saddles, are heavy compared to english saddle, just a heads up, there not heavy for my because I've ridden since I was like...2? Enough of my babel.

Don't worry, barrels bareback at a medium canter is way better any way, I did one time when my mom was out of town, because I knew she wouldn't approve. It. Was. Magical. And don't worry, there is no reason to feel left out, just show then some awesome barrel turns, and see if they can do that!

I want to get English lessons at my stable. I grew up with western riding but I really want to learn how to jump on my pony, Spirit.

Her name is Isobel. She's a little chestnut WelshxQH, 8 years old and sweet as can be. Doing a trial ride with her on Sunday, and I can't wait!
This is going to be the best summer of my life;)
