Yeah...I want an eventer <3 All my favorite things....Dressage...Cross country...and jumping. Of course Im not a big fan of stadium jumping...but its a small sacrifice to do the other two.

I found a gypsy vanner for sale a week ago just absolutely stunning we already had Pasqaullyyy and turtle bird though. i just wanted him so bad then I refreshed and the ad was gone he was sold :0 I guess thats what happens when a gypsys for sale for 1500. Looking at those ads just makes you want them all though hehheh ^^.

I've already posted most of my stories...but I'd just thought I'd mention that my dad thinks my horse is part blind! Is it possible for him to be part blind but still see jumps and race up to them? He always knows when things are there so is it really possible?!?!?!?!

The horse I ride in jumping lessons is completely blind in her right eye, but she is calmer then the other horses, and the only reason she doesn't jump as high is cause she's older. She has no depth or length perception problems or anything. She's great.

Starfigher- it seems as though Buzz needs some manner and ground lessons from someone with experience with young horses, and a really consistent handler. It would be very likely to hve huge problems later on if he doesn't get the right training now.

I have heard that blind horses are very trusting if they have a good bond with you, for you are in reality their eyes. I don't think that your horse would have an issue, klyheba, even if he was parially blind.

Im not sure though, I havn't had first hand experince with riding blind horses.

Thank God someone caught Rowdy. I was fuming, but I walked him to make sure he wasn't hurt. Jerk. >.>

That's scary, I'm glad he's alright.
The barn I ride at is on a remote dirt road, mostly occupied by farmers etc.
So most people are nice enough to stop and let you cross the road or call you about a loose horse etc.

My friends horse got lose a her old barn. The mare was going down a very very very mian road.

We have a blind in one eye horse at my barn. He is a Rocky Mountian Pony. He use to be great, but due to a breathing issue related to asema in humans he has been out in the pasture since summer. We bring him in to feed him and stuff, but nothing more. My trainer has gotten him on new treatment so we brought him in to clip of his remianing winter woolies. He had a Spaz attack! He was being a tottal butt. Acting like a mustang off the range. Not fun.



Like many have said Starfighter, it would be best to start Buzz on ground manners. I know his behavior may be cute right now, but as he grows it can become dangerous. If your letting him get away with it now, he is going to think: Oh it's okay to bite people. Oh it's okay to kick. Oh it's okay to throw my weight around. Oh it's okay to charge at people. And many other things when he gets older. I would consult a proffesional becuase trianing is not easy, if you dont have someone with somexpreince under their blet helping you. Has he been gelded? And how old is he exactly?

i own 7 horses. a hanoverian named marmaduke whom i ADORE,3 quarrer horses named jake,dizzy,and scooter(scooters or newest and i love him too!),a pinto quarter cross named dakota,a tb named dalilah,and a POA named confetti. i love them all! lol i do a little bitof everything riding wise,but my favorite disiplines (and the ones that im best at) is show jumping and dressage. i also love crosscountry and endurance riding even though the longest ive done in endurance was an all day cmpitition with dakota(in which i placed 5th out of 9:/)
but i also love bareback. ive kinda trained myself to jump bareback and can do 2.5 easy bareback but taller than that gets scary lol i just love horses!!!
also does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep weight on a senior horse???dizzy is an old girly,shes 27 and an X-barrel racer too...shes constantly going back and forth from sound to lame and i havnt been able to ride her since last summer so shes quite sway backed she eats like a pig and we have upped her food(crimped oats/senior pellets)to 2 scoops twice a day versus the normal 1 scoop twice a day. im worried about her. does anyone have any tips!?and shes shedding her winter hair all weird this year too shes not slickng off like our other horses...its not normal i dont think...somebody pls help me

This blog has some good suggestions to help with weight gain and keeping weight on. If you haven't gotten blood work or other vet check done, I definitely recommend that.
