Huh. Thats rather odd then. I have had the sweetest of lesson horses DISPISE me, to the point of acctualy trying to nip me. Then my baby (Honey) Who was taken from me hated almot everyone. She would draw blood from most who rode her. Not child freindly at all. She loved me. Horses are....picky I suppose...not every horse can take a liking to you. Some will learn to like you..some will not.

Any tips on barrel racing?I have never done barrels but I want to start....please help.

Its super fun! Even though I dont ride them myself, I love it. <3
You may want to go to a rodeo event and talk around to people there, or if you have a trainer, talk to them.
If you google/yahoo/whatever it, you should get some tips also:

it is very fun. i have been doing it for a few years now, but one of the most important things is to find a nice reliable mount to first learn on, you can advance to the high strung speed demons when you get a little more experienced and know the right cues to ask for what you want.

I backed a 16.3 when I was in P4 He was nice,He was a Dapple grey colour! I have backed many horses and that!

I agree,i do barrel racing with my horse Sahdow,hi is very good,you need to have a strong seating and a strong realationship with your horse,if you do then he will trust you and understand what you want him to do,i have broken loads of wild horses but none such as my new one Honey!She is mad!
