I need some Rabbit owners to help me out

here is a Dwarf Lop bunny. They stay cute, no matter if it's a baby or an adult, and don't grow too big.

I myself am not a rabbit owner but my best friend owns 20 of them and she breeds them! trust me I know what I'm talking about

Question 1: Garage or outside? Garage! If you keep it outside for it's life it is going to die! It need warmth and also if it's outside a raccoon is more likely to get in the cage that in your garage! Not to mention coy dogs could scare it to death (but I guess if you live in the city no worry's about that) So I would highly recommend keeping it in your garage unless you want it to die!

Question 2: I'm gone for most of the day. Will the rabbit be okay by itself for 6-7 hours? Yes, It will be ok as long as it has a clean cage, food, toys and water at all times. Also If you are planning on leaving it by itself I would recommend getting two to keep each other company wile your gone but if not as long as you spend some time with it, I'm sure it will be fine!

Question 3: What breeds are recommended for first time bunny owners? (one second calling my friend on that one)... EDIT- Any kind of Dwarf bunny would be good except Lions-head, they enquirer grooming every day and they nee their hair trimmed especially the knots in their hair

Question 4: I've heard that bunnies 'over heat' quite easily but I live in the UK (The weather is not the greatest). Will it effect me? No, I think not unless you have a heater in your garage then no and they to not over heat that easily as long as they have fresh water in the bowl at all times they will be ok

I've bred rabbits for over 10 years, I've never kept any in my house or my inclosed porch expect 2 of my very old ones.
They do fine outside as long as they have a place to get out of the weather and have a roof on top of the cage.
Lop rabbits tend to over heat more than others.
I give my rabbits about a hour of attention a day usually except on weekends when i'm around more.

keep it out side,and it will be fine on its own.if you are worried aboult it getting to hot,put a frozen water bottle in its cage with it.the tipe that i would recomend is the hollind lop.someone obove suggested the neatherlands dwarf.when i got my first rabbit i conciderd one,but i asked my 4-h leader, and she said the female ones are mean.

Okay, so I'm looking into getting a rabbit round about spring time in 2012. My parents are okay with it as long as it is kept outside or in the garage. They don't want it to be in the house because they say it 'stinks' and causes 'a mess' with it's bedding and droppings.
So, these are the following questions I need answered. If you can give me some added helpful tips please do so.

1. Personally, I think it should stay in the garage. I keep my rabbit in our house and he finds it quite cozy c: I'm not really fond of keeping rabbits in outdoor cages/pens because I think that it increases the risk of animal attacks (hawk, coyote, etc.) and also makes them more vunerable to weather (rain, snow, etc.). Even though I keep my bunny indoors, I will let him hop around inside my house in an enclosed area under supervision and will also take him outdoors when the weather is decent ^^ He quite enjoys his little adventures, exploring everywhere. That might be an option for you should you choose to keep him in your garage. However, I'm sure that keeping your rabbit outdoors would be fine as well as long as the conditions are adequate. I know a few people who favor keeping their rabbits outdoors inseatd of in. ^^

2. Yeah, the rabbit should be fine. You should probably make sure he/she will have some time to run around though during the day, if possible. Rabbits are most active at sunset/sunrise, so perhaps you may have time to tend to the rabbit early in the morning.late in the evening.

3. Not quite sure on that one. .3.

4. Since I'm not exactly sure what the weather is liker over there, i'm not exactly sure how to answer that question either. :3

My rabbits just died last week D': We are asking for more rabbits in the spring, but when we are on holiday I said, instead of letting them run loose in the garden [the neighbour would let them out and get them in for us], we should put them in a large pen.
I suggest you do that if you live anywhere with cats near by :c

Question One-It depends what it's like outside.For example,my rabbits stay outside for the day and we keep them in an outdoor rabbit hutch which is quite large.
Question Two-Yeah that time is fine.I let my rabbits roam the garden from about 8.00 in the morning until about 6 in the afternoon.
Question Three-I started with a Dutch and an English lop.I now also have miniature lops and lion head mixes as well and I find that my lion head rabbit is easiest to look after because she isn't too big and she's a generally lovely rabbit.
Question Four-I haven't heard about that and I also live in the uk so you'll be fine.Rabbits also love snow
