There is no doubt that animals have souls. Yes. I'm certain, well as certain as you can be, lol. Gaze into a dog's eyes and you know. :)

I should rephrase that but I can't quite figure out how. So, uh, raincheck on that.

They aren't at all minor! Size does not make something minor.

My rats have the kindest, sweetest, most loving hearts I have ever seen, and souls full of life and light. They have emotion- they suffer, they mourn, they love.

These little faces? of course they have souls-

I have watched them mourn the dead, show fear and love and excitement, care for others. An animal without a soul will not do that. When my rat's friend was dying they never left her side. She had cancer that eventually blocked her ear canal, causing it to be infected, and killed her eye. The other rats cleaned her ear for her, washed her eye, and slept next to her since she got cold easily when she got worse. When I brought her body home from the vet, they all ran to see her, then stopped. Then slowly approached and started licking her face- they seemed like they wanted her to wake up. It was hard for them to loose her. They knew it was coming, but they still seemed upset.

These same "minor" animals have cared for me for years. They try to "help" me with things, like grooming tangles out of my hair, and if I cry, they clean the tears from my face. They love to cuddle, and to snuggle, and they know me from other people. They become excited when I come into the room and they treat me like family.

Things without souls do not care, love, or show compassion. It doesn't happen.

Same as above, but with cats. Whenever I'm upset, my cat always comes in to see me, and sits on my lap. Same when I'm sick.
Animals do have souls as much as we do.

I would say that about all of my animals. My snake doesn't show much compassion but I believe she still has a soul.

I have full belief that every animal on this planet, small or large, has a soul. You may be able to look into a dog's eyes and find something deeper than you can grasp, and just know it has a soul, but maybe you can't look into something as small as a cockroach's eyes and see anything, but that doesn't mean they are soul-less. I believe some animals have a larger capacity for love and affection, that they are closer to our own souls than we think, but all in all, I think all animals have a soul in their own way.

You can't look into these eyes and say she doesn't have a soul.

I actually think you are wrong on that point.
Animals are very important to your daily life.
Every drop of milk, every ounce of cheese ,eggs or meat...every bit of wool you wear all come from animals.

The world we live in now would be drastically different if we had not used draft animals on farming or as war animals.
The dyes used to make colorful food packages, or to dye clothes and make paints are often from beetles.
There are so many things that animals influence you would be surprised.
Hunting them as primitive beings, gave us the brain power to be what we are now, regardless of your religion.

I think animals do have souls. And just to say.

I breed fancy mice and they certainly do have personalities. To say otherwise just tells me you've never had one for any length of time and interacted with it.

It is really, really egotistical to say you have a soul, but such and such animal does not. It's irrelevant in any case because all life deserves respect, soul or no soul.

I'm anti species bias in general.

Animals are actually extremely important. We get milk, cream, cheese and meat from cows.
We get eggs and meat from poultry, as much as I love birds, we still have to eat.
Wool comes from sheep
And the funny thing is, everybody saying animals dont have souls is saying they are souless and unimportant. The funny thing is, we evolved from the source of life, so we are pretty much animals.

I'm not sure about insects, but I do believe that the ''more intelligent'' animals do have souls. A cat is not going to kill off her kittens, because she loves them. There're too much examples like this. But as for insects, I'd say that we, as humans, will never understand how other species live and feel. An insect may have a soul, but we'll find the way they're living way too senceless to believe they do have souls. Ants won't attack their queen for no reason, will they?

I'm not sure though. This is a very difficult subject to talk about.
