Maybe she would have...if she hadn't seen the horse then run away feeling to scared to get on!

I can mount well but that's with a mounting block, for around 15hh. Without a block for 12hh (I'm around a foot taller then the horse.) and I struggle with a 17hh freisan, on a mounting block. (rode one on holiday, watching me do the rising trot was quite funny apparently!!) XD

She is young. I know a little girl that got on the horse then fell off. She has not gotten back on. But she is only 5. She loves horses and her and her sister are always getting Non-Fiction books from the Library.

Meowmoss-I can mount a horse that is around 15.4 HH. Thats how big Little Bit is. But sometimes I would need a mounting block if I had extercized that day. Because my legs would be in way to much pain.

Top level dressage riders do use spurs. I have been to badminton horse trials and seen it myself. I use spurs because my horse was abused with a whip so I cannot use one. So I use spurs. I use prince of Wales spurs which are blunt.
btw Mandy-Lou22 is soooo amazing wanna give her a massive hug

In dressage competions, the whole point of it is to demonstrate skill of riding without artificial aids, that includes, spurs, whips, leg bandages (although they may be worn during warmup). the Sport came from riding on the parade grounds.

Seriously, no offense to anyone, but I'm going to quit posting on this thread. It gets pretty off topic all the time, and I can't stand people who don't have a clue about Western riding but bash on it. Try riding for 12 hrs a day on weekends and riding 4-6 hours a day on school days, even if its dark, blizzarding, whiteouting, sandstorming, thunderstorming, and on some horses that shouldn't even be ridden by proffesionals. That is what cowboy means. That is what my life is, and I actually DO know about my own life, I know western. And I know cowboy. I won't say any names, but its getting on my nerves about all of the arguments. This thread was supposed to be aboud KINDLY discussion, yeah, more like try to bash on every little thing.
There's something to be said for a place that hasn't had all the rough rode out of it.

No one uses spurs in dressage! And no one is bashing, people are just stating their opinions, and I do go riding everyday, I live in Scotland ans the weather is probaly worse then any other place. I take ponies/foals/stallions in a large herd miles and miles over the moor, across rivers just sowe can get them home.No one is bashing, just expressing their opinion.
