That's YOUR experience. Not everyone's. A bad experience is a stupid reason to dislike a breed or hold it against them.

It is our fault, the humans. The back yard breeders, the people who don't discipline and socialise their pitbulls, the people who don't provide basic care for their dogs, who can't handle them, didn't know they'd get that big, that fight them, breed them unprofessionally. It's all their fault. They're all humans. It's humans who ruined the breed, therefore our fault. Instead of killing them, I believe we should make up for this by getting rid of bans and introducing licenses.

so what your saying is it is some people's fault for dog fighting not humanity. So why not apply that somewhere else. It was the pits who attacked's fault and not the whole breeds. So why ban or kill all of them?

It's not just OUR experience, it is thousands of other peoples as well. Hundreds of people are killed byt these dogs, many of them infants and children younger then you and I.

Actually, you can't trust breed-based statistics. They rely on amateurs and not professionals to identify the breed, which means if it has ANY characteristics of a pit bull, even if it's not and really a lab mix, chow mix, shar pei mix (which all have that blocky head), it gets labeled as a pit bull. That, and clear bias shows through. Some statistics will say it's the dachshund, others the chihuahua, or the pit, or the german shepherd, or the rottweiler, or the doberman, or the mastiff.

And again I say, studies have proven that lessening the number of pit bulls in a space did nothing to lessen attacks as a whole. That means dogs are biting no matter what breed they are, and irresponsible owners are getting other breeds and letting THOSE bite people too.

And there IS a problem if you let a small dog bite. Again I bring up the pomeranian that killed a baby after being left alone with it.

So you will cast aside my sources, yet believe your own? Interesting...

You do understand licenses wouldnt help a bit.
Dog fighting is illegal, people sill do it secretly. Owning a dog is easy to get away with, and if you had a license, who's to say the people didnt lie to get it?
And a LOT of people would probably just get them illegally. Some laws fail.

Rule number 1; it's never the dogs fault (elaborated: they never attack without a reason.)

It's our fault. We pay for it daily when pitbulls escape because their OWNERS can't contain them, and the pitbulls die because they were never taught that doing so was wrong. If we don't teach them, they won't learn. You don't honestly think that all dogs (obviously, in your opinion, not pitbulls.) are born with manners, respect for humans, and the need to please?

My point was that pits can kill easier then little dog but that is no reason to ban them.

See, I would LOVE to agree with you, so much! I wouldn't want these dogs to go, but I think some sick people have just been breeding them for fighting for so long that they are at a point of no return. Maybe after some more years they will turn good again, and I hope they do.

And pitts get blamed...because they did it!

Only as interesting as you casting aside my sources and believing your own ;3 And not reading my entire post.

Licensing would help tremendously, as would banning the purposeful breeding of mutts except in cases to create a new breed. None of this "oh she's so cute, I want her puppies" nonsense. A breeding license would also be helpful to make sure ALL breeders are held to the same high standard, AND that would help the overpopulation problem as well. If people had to jump through hoops in order to own a dog, we'd have less attacks, less cases of abuse and neglect, and less dogs in shelters. Period. Then we wouldn't have to argue about whether a certain breed is dangerous when it's not.

And no, not only pit bulls kill. Any dog over 80lbs has a track record of attacking to kill if they attack at all. Why? Because those are dogs that are at a size that can easily overpower a human.
