Thanks for the advice! Luckily these two monsters love each other. I seriously doubt they would have any issues with each other. When we moved last time, into a much smaller house, they did just fine.

I'm hopeful that wherever we buy, already has something I can set up for my inside animals to move into, but if not we will have to get something. My mom and I will hopefully be going to look at places sometime soon! And we are starting to clean our house to get ready to put it on the market.

Any ideas how big it should be? Or some items that would make it more comfy? Should I put their cat tree out in the pen? Or in the stall/building? I feel like I'm missing something in my ideas for this....

And thank you! Jezebel is a total sweet heart (black/white) and Ivan (aka FatCat) is a terror but he is very cuddly when he's behaving!

I would make it fairly big, cats need plenty of space to roam. I would surely put some sort of scratching post, if you don't put a scratching post there cats can get picky about their over grown claws and start scratching whatever they can. You should probably put it inside. Cats scratch on furniture, wood, anything. If I was you I would buy a decent cat bed or just put a comfy cloth/blanket in a basket. Maybe some pillows too. Give them some air, probably warm because my cat would sit in the air conditioning and lay there. Remember that cats have hear way better then you do, so I wouldn't put anything too noisy there. Same for eyesight, if I was a cat I would hate adjusting my eyes to the dark. They may be able to see in the dark, but it does not mean their eyes are completely crystal clear in dark light, and plus they have vision on the side of their face. I would probably hang up some feather/stringy toys in the room. Maybe some other toys like a ball or mouse with a squeaker. Cats do enjoy hiding, it is a natural instinct to wait for their prey and sort of jump out of bushes, so I would put a few hiding spots there. I do not recommend putting citrus smells or anything your cats don't like. Many cats hate citrus, as my cat ignores it. You could also make an area where they can get outside and fresh air, however make sure there is no grass they may eat or deadly plants. Cats sometimes eat grass for no reason (my cat!), or they eat it to puke up something when their sick (my cat did that once, it was gross). You would also want to give the cats plenty of food and water. A litter box, too. It depends on how much your cat eats and drinks on your litter box amounts. Don't put too much litter in it, either. Keep spiders out of it, there has been many spiders by my cats litter box in the garage. Even a wolf spider thing. And, cats need plenty of space to explore. They may get bored and lay around if you don't give them enough to explore. What I do with my cat is I give her easter eggs that are slightly open with treats in them, and watch my cat get the treats! I've heard of dog puzzles where they get treats. They can be used for cats, if your cats are that smart.

They won't be allowed in the house, the pen I am talking about would be fully outside unattached to anything. Then they would also have a area in a building for night time.

It will hopefully be pretty natural, so grass, branches, that sort of thing. They won't end a scratching post, both are front declawed.

He has a water bowl which is filled every morning and he uses it often, but still he insists on getting into the loo and having a drink... He is the one cat i don't particularly like licking my hands... and I never use to touch is paws when he was younger as he use to play with his poop... He would get it out of the litter tray and chase it on the tiles around the house... thankfully he has stopped that now!

    Close the bathroom door?
    Put the lid down?

in addition to that pretty good point if you dont have a toilet lid and/or cant close your bathroom door (i keep my bathroom door open cus they have a litter box in there) try getting him another bowl. cats like options. i have this waterfall purified thing that my cats lloovveee but they also like being able to drink out of the bowl i have set out for them. so thats another option :)

Problem with giving him another water bowl is he for some reason likes to play with the water, and sometimes will flip his water bowl over... we did try a heavier one but he tipped it an smashed it, and we have tried to use mats under the food and water bowls to stop the mess but he claws at it and breaks to bowls. We would close the door or lid of the toilet but he scratches at the door and pushes his head under to toilet lid to get in... he is a very strange cat!

Cole used to drink out of the toilet a lot, but he hasn't done it much recently since we got one of those water "bowls" that works like a fountain and constantly moves the water around. Apparently cats are more attracted to running water than water that just sits there in the bowl. That's what our vet said, at least, and so far it seems to be true. I don't know how easy it would be for the cat to break the bowl, but Cole likes to play in water bowls as well and he hasn't tipped it over or broken this one yet.

The cats also drink out of the dog's water bowl, which is pretty heavy and made of metal with a wide base and rubber rim on the bottom. I can't imagine how any cat would be able to tip that one over, let alone break it. You could try getting something like that for your cat.

Yeah we have one of those bowls that are metal with a rubber ring on the bottom, cat size though... yet Archie still manages to flip it XD puts his nose under it and flips it...

You don't have to get something that's "cat size". You can always get the bigger dog bowls, or even use heavy mixing bowls. I had to do that because Loki plays in her water and was tipping the bowl over.

For a while there, she was also drinking out of the fish tank. That was too big for her to tip haha
