Need professional help!

My house cats started to defecate on my bed and it's become a weekly thing.
We have not made any dramatic changes to the cats life but need some advice to what I can do because it's become unbearable. We moved the litter tray because I'm worried it might be too close to his food bowl.

He's never had problems defecating when he was a kitten. So this is quite worrying. Any help is appreciated a lot!

It's nothing like that. It's also assuming the animals are being given to complete strangers or that the person won't grill the new owner to ensure their pet is going to a new home. Which, btw, you just basically called me a bad owner since I rehomed my cats in September.

My cats will not be going to "random unknown people". I will be grilling them and doing house checks and reference checks. It's a much better option for my cats at this stage anyway, since I've found out there is also a very large outdoor dog with a very high prey drive where I will be moving. I'd rather have them go to a new loving home then be torn apart by a dog.

Right now, I am looking to see if anyone can foster my babies for me until I get settled in a place of my own once I move. Again, these people will be given the third degree, and I will require references and home checks. I will also ask to speak to the vet that they will be using if something happens to my babies. Right now, I'm still doing research to determine what would be a fair price to pay this person every month for the time that they have my cats.

In my opinion, rehoming is the least selfish thing you can do for your pets. It is putting their needs before your wants, no matter how much it hurts to do so. I never said that finding new homes for Naya and Loki was going to be easy. This is one of the most painful things I've ever had to consider, but it is also something that I have to think about. I have to do what is best for my cats.

As for your kitty, I love the name Skye.

Elsa, I'm sorry you're having to consider rehoming your cats right now. It's a tough situation. I hope you're able to work out a foster so you can get them back later.
