My mom said if he doesnt stop we have to get rid of him because we cant just go out and buy a new couch because he ruined it. Between him and Austin we might get kicked out of our house! IT SMELLS! But my mom said if i get rid of Austin or keep my room clean for a year i can get a puppy! yay puppy! lol raandom!

Anyway what could be causing leo to do this? It started like last month. He's like 4 i think maybe older, an- oh hang on my dog is pooping on the floor DANG IT NOW I HAVE TO CLEAN IT UP! ok i am back -.- anyway yea

Do you have litter boxes, or does Leo go outside? Or does he only go on funiture, and other things?

we have 2-3 litter boxs, 1 in the bathroom 1-2 in the basement he doesnt like the one in the bathroom because of the lid, the others dont have a lid. He isnt allowed outside neither is the others.

Me and my mom got a litter box with a lid, my cat Prissy didn't like the litter box with the lid so we took it off and she started using it. Can your lid come off? Im not sure if this is a territorial issue, Its like your cat is threatened and feels as if he needs to make sure his scent is known to other pets in the house. Make sure you are spending lots of time with him playing with him to wear him out to deter his behavior. If this doesn't work, may I question if you have taken him to the vet for this?

For the past almost two years, the neighbours gigantic aggresive tom has attacked our 8 year old Molly.
He comes onto our deck (HER territory) out in the back, and try's to shred her. She usually drives him off thoug before he can serious wounds on her.
It's gotten so bad that her best friend (our other 8 year old Molly) she attacks on contact. It breaks my heart because the other Molly used to be her best friend and they were always together. And when she is laying on our bed if you accidentally start petting her and she doesn't see you do it she'll turn around and snarl at you and attack you because she thinks she's been attacked. Once she sees it is you she'll automatically stop and rub herself on you.
I want to go give those neighbours a big piece of my mind, but my mom won't let me. It seriously hurts to here her screeching in the night because of the big tom.

And no, he isn't doing it because she is in heat. She has been fixed since she was 4 1/2 months old

Get a hose. Watch for the tom. If he comes near your deck, spray him. Water won't kill or hurt him, but it is a nasty surprise to ward off the pesky tom. With diligence and a good bit of water, he'll either learn his lesson, or your neighbors will figure it out.

I have a cat who has been peeing and pooping on the carpet and (very rarely) dog beds/cat beds/human beds for years, since he was around a year old. He's five now. He is the biggest pain but I love him too much and would never get rid of an animal, of course. Aside from this issue he's an awesome, mellow cat.

I've tried everything. I mean everything. Took him to the vet, they did a urine sample. Nothing. No crystals. No infection. Bought those plug-in hormones to calm cats. Nada. Bought more litter boxes - I have three cats, four litter boxes. Still pees and poops on the carpet. He gets all the attention a cat could dream of - we're home almost 24/7. (sleeping on my desk right now, as a matter of fact)

I've put tin foil down on spots he prefers to go in. Even after a month, as soon as that foil was removed he'd go right back to the spot. We even got new carpets two years ago (thinking that would get him to stop, maybe a cat peed on the old carpet) but he's been doing the same on the brand new carpets.

We've tried different types of litter. We've tried different litter boxes. We've steam cleaned the carpets frequently. We have tried different products to remove pee and to discourage them from peeing there again.

Nothing has worked. Nothing.

I don't know if fuzzy's cat is as severe but in my case I'm at a loss.

And to add onto that, try talking to the neighbours about the problem. If their tom isn't de-sexed, they should get it done as this could help with the aggression. One of the vet nurses I work with has a neighbours tom cat harassing her cats and spraying on her front door, and the neighbours refuse to neuter the cat as they see no problem. So she threatened that if the cat keeps it up and she can catch it she will bring it into work and get it fixed by the vet. Some people need to learn to control their animals!

I was just thinking their case may have been different since it started qhen the cat was four. A behaviour like that shouldn't start at that age unless there's a problem with the cat.

Also, is yours declawed? I know that can make them not want to use the litter box.

Yeah, just thought I'd share my experience. Not to try and say that they shouldn't take their cat to the vet of course (as that's the first thing I did myself).

And yes he is declawed, sadly. Back when I got my first cat Mischief, who is seven, I was clueless about declawing. Sadly didn't learn by the time I got Skye five years ago either. But my most recent cat I adopted two years ago has his claws intact and long story short I won't be declawing any future cats.

That's the main reason why I tried different litters though, hoping one wouldn't cause him as much discomfort. Sand, paper, pellets. Nothing has gotten him to stop, though he does seem to prefer the pellets. And the thing is, is he will go in the litter box sometimes. He just goes around the house, too.

Hmm.... Have you tried something that isn't litter like guinea pig bedding? The soft, papery-fabric piece kind. Or you could even try the potty patch or something like it for dogs. It's just a grass-covered tray but he wouldn't have to bury anything (don't know if he'd take to it but worth a shot)
