Is he a long hair? sounds like it.

Yes he is long haired.

My aunt cares more about her carpet then the well being of her cat :c He's old and deserves better than this.

well, I hope his passing will be peaceful and painless when it does come. Ours passed in her sleep on Halloween(weird...).

Bootsy was a real monarch. She ruled over the house for 20 strong years, and never, even in her blind wanderings, ever lost her grace and gracefulness...well... maybe when she ate some cat litter it dented it... but past that, she kept herself together in her last days.

Do you get them exercise? If they're indoor cats they might need more exercise to run off that energy, and a new baby sister could be exciting them.

Wow, I haven't posted here in forever! xD
Is anyone else having a cat-flu run through their cats? All four of my aunt's (the aunt who's a vet) cats and my older brother's cat got very sick recently. It started with them losing interest in food, and then they started throwing up, becoming very weak and over all sick. Like a really bad feline flu. My brother's cat had a fever, and it took nearly three weeks for them all to fully recover, and my aunt's 17 year old male is still a bit weak. They were getting medicine and fluids, and being force-fed. Thankfully, they're all eating on their own now.
I'm afraid it might run through my cats now. My cat Jigsaw (he's around eight and a half, I think) started throwing up a few days ago, and none of my other cats are eating well. Me and my mom gave Jigsaw fluids and medicine my aunt gave us last night, and he's stopped throwing up and is a bit perkier today, though still definitely not all well.
My other cats, though not eating that well, don't seem to be acting like they're sick... at the moment, anyway. Bramble was asking to go outside earlier today (though that's not going to happen... it's freezing here xD) and Amarni and Butterscotch were playing with a bottle cap all around the house. Sassy seems a little... quiet, I guess, just wanting to lay in the sun, but I don't know if she's not feeling well or just laying about with the usual cat laziness ^^

It might have been something they ate, or it depends on the area you live in c: second opinion anyone??

Oh, and do other people's cats here like getting their belly touched or rubbed like a dog? My cat lays down next to me with her belly showing and she lets me rub her belly owo

We've been looking into the possibility its the brand of food we give them, since we and my aunt feed the same food to our cats (and my older brother lives with my aunt, so his cat gets that food, too) however, we're pretty sure its some sort of bug. Even so, we're giving them some different foods and see if that does anything. We feed our cats canned Wellness. Also, all the cats had blood work done, but it all came back normal.
My brother's cat, who is usually so skittish you can hardly touch him without him putting his ears back and hissing at you, was so sick you could pet him, pick him up, basically do anything to him. He didn't even care when we gave him fluids and medicine.
My aunt has even canceled most of her vet appointments with cats for fear of bringing the bug to her client's cats.

Ohh, my cat Bramble loves his belly rubbed! Jigsaw, too, though not as much. My female cats, however, will shy away if you try to rub their bellies.
Hehe, Amarni is playing with a cap to a syringe right now. She's picking it up in her mouth, tossing it into the air, and batting it halfway across the room. So adorable <33 XD

Generally cats with cat flu have runny noses and eyes ( seen a mild case at the vet i work at ) , but just to be safe make sure your cats have their cat flu shots. Also if one of the cats does get cat flu or looks like it does, separate it from the other cats as it is contagious.

But be sure you take them to the vet to get checked out!!

I didn't know cat flu shots were a thing... and to respond to the other question my cat loves having her belly rubbed. (:
