At gallop, each hoof is seperate, one off the ground at each time. If the "gallop" had four beats, then it's a gallop.

Actually, at one point in the gallop, all four feet are off the ground at once. ^^;

I just got back from riding horses on the beach...
my horse's name was Dozer, and he was pretty good, though he was kindof hard to turn and get in the water, it was really fun. the one thing I hated was I had to wear a helmet, which was really uncomfortable and hot.

I don't usually ride with a helmet. I jut hate them. I know I should, but I don't.

Not a very good ride.It was only 15-30 minutes anyway.After me and my sister rode I tried to ride Demon myself (he use to ride by himself..)and he kept going around in circles.I can turn him good with the right side,but not on the left,at all.Therefore he was going in circles.So I got off.(Yes,I know that's not good)He neck reins,Anyway anyone know how to stop this problem?

Was there something he was previously used for? Perhaps a sport that required horses only to use the right turn? Perhaps he is just completely and totally right handed and becomes an absoulte mess when going left.

Horses aren't naturally straight. they only go straight if they are being chased by a predator, running with the herd, or if they are taught.

I know that American racehorses are terrible at rights because all they know is left. British/English racehorses are the opposite.

He's a barrel horse,could that of caused it?

~Swirl Pop~ i would recomed over using the rein that he doesnt respond to... iv seen this with a lot of horses because the person know the horse will turn easly one way and not the other so they use the one side more and then the horse only turns one way
