Re: Do You Ride Horses? Fresh Thread

It's twilight outside, so the horses are having a hard time seeing. Well, they ran through the fence and were walking around in our driveway. So, I had to go out with my brother, his friend, and try to herd them back into the pasture. Ughhh, tiring. Then Fox, our chestnut gelding, decides to have a stand-off with me. Horse, I'm tired, I'm not in the mood to fight with you. XD But, we finally got all of them back inside of the pasture. :D

Whoops, I guess somehow I missed this comment >.< Silly me. Sure I would love comments! If you still remember them, I would love to hear them, especially since I am doing my A show tomorrow, so all comments would be appreciated! Thanks so much scence_kid <33

OOoohhh guess what guys? Yesterday my mom said that she got a call from my old stable saying....That I got bumped up! Yep, that's right I got bumped up! Now I will be riding at 10:30 on Saturdays in a Novice I+ Class that the instructor said is her more advanced Nov I+ class :) I know the instructor that teaches the class since she teaches the lesson next to mine, and she seems awesome! She challenges her students which I really like. She said that she would be glad to move me into her class~

I remember :). You have a lovely jump position with a good steady canter. My only crit is you need to sit up right quicker after the jump and you transition back to trot after the course seemed sloppy. The horse jumps and goes around lovely but you did seem to just get over the last jump and thats it. I dunno the show many just want to see you jump but it will still influence the score especially if your a regular. But I am jealous that you get to compete so regularly. I have no trailer so I need to be buddy with someone who does

Thank you very much! Yeah I have done a lot of work to get my position to where it is now, so it's nice to hear that from someone else :) About the sitting up quicker -- funny you should say that since when I started jumping bigger fences, I used to sit up too quickly xDD I find it funny that now I stay in my jumping position a little bit too long  I will try to work on that, since it took me so long to break my habit of sitting down too early. Yeah I agree that transition was a bit sloppy, I am guessing Woody got lazy and I just let him. Yeah Woody does seem to jump nicely :3 Thanks again for all of the critique and compliments! You make me feel so good. I know I am very lucky to be able to compete so often! Hopefully your barn could hold some competitions there so you wouldn't need the trailer ;)

@Hanoverian: Ahh, I am so glad to hear that you and Willow are doing so well! Once again, I would adore seeing pictures of video of you two <3 Thank ya very much :3 Yep, it's tomorrow actually! We are getting up bright and early to head to the stables to load Woody. Great, some video would be awesome 8D

Me too! I am also a very visual learner, and I love viedos. They are very helpful~

Thanks! Yeah I must appologize for the terrible quality D'x Aww thank you so much, I really appreciate all of the nice comments, it really helps motivate me for tomorrow and gets my confidence up! Yes, as I said above, I used to have a problem with sitting down too early, and it was really hard to break that habit. I guess once I broke it I started sitting down too late  Yeah we were a little late on one lead change...In my last lesson though we got all of our leads on time, except for at the end when my trainer said Woody must be tired since we were getting our leads perfectly thoughout the whole lesson :) I was glad to hear that I was picking up the leads better now though! D'aww thanks again <333 I can't tell you enough how much that means to me to hear that <3

Gosh your making me blush! Yeah after watching my lastest video I could also see improvement, but it's good to hear it from another talented equestrian <33 Thank you, thank you!!! :D Now my confidence is up a ton, so I feel less nervous knowing that other riders think I ride well~

@Failing Tests: In the beginning of the year I failed tons of algebra tests >.< It sucked, but luckily it didn't have an affect on my riding. On the awesome bright side on all of the tests/quizzes we have had during the third quarter I got an A on o.0 Only one B+ pretty crazy, so my dad said I really earned my A show :3

Mulligan, you make my world go round and I can't stand to see you go.
I'm going to miss you like crazy and I love you to pieces.
You are the love of my life and will always occupy a huge portion of my heart.
I want you to know how much I love you, and our 6 months together have been the best 6 months of my life.
You have been a dream come true and I have been on cloud nine since we first met.
I will never forgot all of the amazing times we've had together.
Enjoy your new home and promise me this, that you will never forget me, as I will never forget you.

Had a great day with Storm. I barrel raced for awhile, and then cantered around the yard :)

I"m doing find. School is whooping my butt, and taking away my riding time.

Isn't fun? I remember the first time I did it. I took a lot more balance than I had imagined. Good job!

Passion: IT sucks how school takes away from my only pride and joy.

Nothing really was all that bad except the canter. He has a serious problem of going way too fast, and I guess it didn't help that he was very frisky tonight, but... it's frustrating! If I'm going to be doing western pleasure I need to slow his canter. Could anyone give me some tips? I'd really appreciate the help. I've already tried slowing him down with my seat, and I've added a little pressure every other stride with the reins... but he either keeps going fast or goes down to the trot.

Posted this a couple pages back and wondered if anyone saw it. ^^;
