*Growl*
I was so exited this morning, since I get to ride Soda at 1. Of course, my mother has to completely spoil my happy mood by coming up into my room and yelling at me for some random reason. I don't even know why she's mad at me! Then the internet stopped working.
Now I'm in a very crabby mood. Thanks, mom, for completely ruining my day. She does this every Saturday. Recently, she's been making me clean the whole house every Saturday, while my brother wastes his life on his computer. She def. likes him much more than me, and it isn't fair.
At least my dad is fair... but he's never home.
Anyways, I'm still exited about riding Soda. But not as much as before.

Ugh. I rode Iris for the first time today and she was an utter butthole. ;-;
It didn't help that the outdoor school was boggier than I've ever seen it, but she was just so stubborn and lazy; I couldn't even get her into trot. I was a bit uncomfortable on her though, because I've seen her go crazy on hacks, but never really watched her in a lesson, so I wasn't keen on tapping her with my whip in case she acted up and slipped in the mud. My instructor noticed that I was a little worried and Iris was being annoying, so we just went for a walk around the lake to get used to her and actually do something with my half hour, out of the muck of the school. Iris was actually quite nice, even though she's smaller than Chester and Obbie, so I felt close to the ground, but really high off her back because of her little cushion-y pad under her saddle [I'm not sure if you'd just count it as a support saddle pad or something?].
When I untacked her afterwards, I was un-doing her girth and she turned around and rubbed her head up my leg and butt, leaving this lovely trail of dribble and all that nice stuff. xD

I was supposed to be on Obbie, but he'd just been brought in from a long holiday [I don't know if it was because of his leg injury or not] in the field and hadn't been ridden for a while, so I got swapped off to let one of the instructors ride him first. ;] Still, I got to go and see him after my lesson and should be riding him next week, so long as he doesn't hurt himself again. <33 I can't wait to ride my boy again-- I've missed him so much.

Anyone have tips for a slow horse?

Sadly I don't have tips for a slow horse. I usually ride Ebony who definitely isn't a slow horse. Because she isn't my riding instructor wants me to ride Teddy. Me and Teddy's personalities always clash. We don't get along and basically I don't like him. Sorry about your mom being annoying.

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose

Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium"

Between school, my pets, homework, art and life I have not been able to get on cs often, so please don't be surprised if I'm not very active.

Sorry about your problems with your mum. :/
Buuuut, I may have some tips for you. C: Have you tried getting yourself excited? I mean, sitting there just blankly kicking your horse like a robot may not really effect them, but if you energise yourself, get your own body moving and maybe even talk to them excitdly, it could work. It's hard, I know [I tend to just get annoyed and go all, "frowny Bearsy >:C mutter mutter you won't like me when I'm angry, oh don't you dare do that tinything wrong; strong, confident and very irritated mode: engaged"] but I'm going to try it out next time I ride Iris or Dodger.
If Obbie wasn't back in work I'd have asked for Iris next week because I don't like feeling as if I've lost to her, when I could have done better. Obviously as soon as I heard Obbie was back from the field, I knew I'd have to ride him because omgI'vemissedmybabysomuch. ;^;

Eish ... My previous pony - his name was Flamboyant or Flamby for short - was extremely lazy! I used to ride with my older sister, but the stables shut down and was transformed into a golf-course. Can you believe it? Anyways, Flamboyant was very lazy, and he'd usually walk over the jumps - they were quite high, too! - or just stop dead in front of them. He wouldn't move at all, unless there was another horse in front of him. And when there was a horse in front of him, he'd think it's a race, and charge forward! It was so weird having him, but he was the sweetest and most adorable horse I'd ever ridden! ^_^

Nope. Not going according to plan.
Think I'll just leave it here.

If a horse is slow, there's generally a reason behind it. Could be that the horse dislikes whatever's in front of them and is resisting heading towards it, old age, pain (not like, exceuciating pain usually. Kinda like if you twist your ankle you won't be goin as fast as you could be even if it's not serious), or the horse could be numb to pressure. Meaning, if early on in their life they were ridden by someone who was constantly putting pressure on them with their legs while pulling back on their reins, the horse would assume that the leg pressure was to be ignored and that slow was the way to go. They could also just be lazy, and in that case need a good warmup in order to go as fast as they should be going ^^

It is so hard to find vaulting slips! Do you think pointe shoes would work just as well?
