Yay! Just got some new thermal riding socks :3 exactly what I needed. I had a fantastic lesson on Chino on Saturday, I managed to get a perfect sitting trot which I am very proud of. My instructors daughter also has an amazing jumping pony, who just jumps ANYTHING! And I'm allowed to ride him! Woooo! I'm excited now c:

Don't get nervous Dolphin. Getting nervous won't help. I get nervous when I go to shows, at times. I then end up eating tons of junk food and crap. By then end of the show I can't sit still. I now all the show venues like the back of my hand, even if I have never showed in them. I am constantly going and hanging out, helping, and goofing of with my friends. We have a tack store that backs up to our closest show ground and they do all types of funky things for big shows. Last state finals they celebrated charles owen's 100th anniversary. They had cake and a thing where if you bought twenty dollars worth of stuff you got a free hat. Me and my friend went up to ask if we could just purchase the hat, and we got it for free. We also got Mad Cow Leather Care, which smells super good and drooled over everything 5/A Baker. We love shows and are so comfortable at them since we visit them so often. Me and my bestie like to 'fake' judge flat classes and see who is going to win. How many classes are you entering in? When you have down time, hang out with your barn friends and do crazy things, take crazy photos. That's what me and my cubs do. Heck, my friends have a whole album from this one show where we were all eating hay, pretend eating the feed, doing the same with the water, fake cribbing with our cribbers, and playing with the mane's of our afro ponies [braided manes look like afro's after the braids are out.]. Have fun and learn! Don't let your nerves get the best of you, and remember to breathe. I often forget breathing in jumping classes and come out gasping for air. Your just thinking about everything else and breathing is forgotten, surprisingly, but a supply of oxygen helps you think better.

Don't worry about it. Horses are like giant two year olds, and they all have minds of their own. That, and they all have their little quirks that you have to figure out and learn to work with. Major used to plant his hooves on the ground and refuse to budge pretty much every lesson, to listening really well and actually really moving because I figured out his tricks and what works on him.
It all comes with practice, and I'm sure you did great. x3

Omg. RAIN I HATE YOU. >:U I'm supposed to be working on his jumping with grids and takeoffs spots, etc. but the weather refuses to cpmly. Last week: RAIN. This week: One day of sun. RAIN. FFFFFFFFUUUU. D': So, I'll be doing groundwork. And lots of it. x.x I'll have to work on his leads and such on a lunge line in the little arena with, like, four other horses. Bleggghhhh.
Previously iRowdy/OneRowdyNight and all sorts of other things.

^ I KNOW! All of this rain has been driving us crazy.

I actually did have a lesosn on Sunday, even though it had been raining for three days-ish beforehand. I asked what a good time for a make-up lesson would be ... and I guess I offended my trainer or didn't word my question correctly. I was crying afterwards...

Ah, hurt me now, why don't you? It's been a very bad week. /shot

Too bad you can't ride him at your show. I used to ride a horse named Diesel too! Lemme see if I have a pic . . .

Here's one of him:

Ahh! Diesel is so cute! <3 An appy, I presume?

@Dolphin: Eek! Your show is this weekend, right? ;D Good luck! You'll have an amazing time! Out of barn shows are no biggy. Those are the only shows I've ever been to, haha. EDIT: Didn't see your last post, sorry. xD Have fun! I recommend QuicSilver whitening shampoo and ShowSheen quick spray on stain remover. I am an expert at removing stains now, thanks to Uman. xD You can also use rubbing alcohol.
And you're going to an A show? Awesome! 8D Tell me how it goes, because I'm going to one too this summer. :p I have to start saving my money now, though, because with schooling shows running up a $500-$600 bill, an A show will be more expensive. xD At least it's local-ish.
I'm going to need a show shirt and jacket. D: I don't want to wear those in the summer... ugh.

Eep, I'm excited already! And in July we are planning on going to Kentucky for a B show, so we can experience traveling more for a show without having it be some crazy big A show. <3 I live in Missouri, so it'll be a 5 hour drive down there, longer with the horses, but totally worth it!
Gotta save my money for that too, lol.

Sounds like so much fun! For a show shirt and jacket, start stalking craigslist or whatever site is the popular one near you. You can find some stuff for really cheap, and ads appear every day. I've been watching and looking, and seen whole show sets for sale, just nothing my size yet.

This summer, there is a chance we will go to some of the regional shows that are part of the arab circuit. They aren't very far away, only about 40 min, but they are a lot bigger. And there is a teeny tiny chance I might get to go with the crew across the border into the states for a day or two, but likely not. Maybe next year. The other nearest region is across the border( only a few hours, we're pretty close) and they show there often.

Horse's Soul, you still haven't replied about your so-called horses. Please don't ignore me and the others.

Good news - I asked my instructor if I could ride Soda Pop, and she said yes! I'll be riding him this Saturday, which means VIDEOS! And pictures, if possible. You might only get a snippet of a video that doesn't have my instructor shouting my name or my mother talking in the background, saying in a british accent "Walk your horses please, walk your horses." Anyways, I'm veeery exited.
I got to talk with my barn friends today... yay! We just got a fence around the cross-ties/stalls, and it's a pain to get in and out of, because there's only one gate. So we were talking about how there needs to be trap-doors and such. XD
Gah, the gate would've been so useful with Cowboy, but he's not here anymore. He always ran away when we bridled him, but with the new cross ties and fenced-in area, he wouldn't of been able to run away.
Soda has this cute little puffy forelock. <3 He's so cute, from the front he looks like a scruffy pony, but from the side he looks like an expensive show horse. It's strange, strange indeed.
@ Dolphin: Good luck, Dolphin, you'll do great! I know that you'll win, you're an epic rider. Hug Woody for me, he's so cute. <3 GOOD LUCK AGAIN, win the show and TAKE. PICTURES.
@ Hanoverian: WOW, Hano, your shows are expensive. My local shows aren't much at all.
Where are ze pictures? I want to see them, Hano. XD I'm obsessed with pictures, obviously.

I hope that Soda works for me - maybe I'll get to ride him in the show! My next show is Feb 26, by the way. Anyways, my instructor hasn't had me ride Soda yet because she thought that I had ridden him and hated him. XD Yeah, sure. I've never ridden him before. Soooooooooooo exited!
