I have decided that I no longer want to be on Chicken Smoothie. I have become too infatuated with the site. No, I am not giving away free pets; they will all go to the Pound or to good CS friends of mine.
Bye, CS!

10 squid for an hour lesson! they cost about 20quid for an half hour where I am!! But you may live somewhere where everything is cheaper for some reason. (when i went to do a riding school thing in Cornwall, all the other kids (who were local) said to us that that was overpricing, but that's just cos i be living in the south.

I teach in Devon, so not too far to Cornwall. Yet we don't charge £20 per half hour it's about £22 for an hour group

Anyway, Luz del Dia has been amazing. I'm really coming along with the whole Spanish-style thing.
I also learned Luz's background story.
Apparently he was a "mistake", he was never meant to happen. But some dumb stablehand left his father in a field of mares and... you know. They managed to get him out before he'd mated with any. Or so they thought.
La de da, time went by, Luz was born. Now, as it happened, both his mother and father were quite spirited horses. So he turned out, in a word, mad. (As in crazy mad, not anger management mad.) The trainers couldn't train him, he was too aggressive. So he was sent here after a few years (he's now 4) and he's an absolute angel. <3 Here's a picture of him, he's beautiful! You see that dappling? OHMYGOSH <3
Anyway, Shadow is getting to like him. Or rather, hate him a little less. Today she managed a whole three minutes without snapping at him. <3 The owners of our stable want a cross between an Andalusian and a Lipizzaner and those two would be perfect.
Only problem is getting them to not-hate each other before Shadow goes into heat. <3

One beautiful horse you go there! Is that a girl or boy? o.o

He's a stallion, but we might get him gelded after he and Shadow have had a foal. (If they ever do)

Brrr, so cold today, it was all frosted over. Anywho, we got Spud shaven today. :D. He looks much neater now. It was actually a pleasure to shave him, even though it took long, at least I was in a cozy stable. Never got to ride him sadly. :(

It's cheap and it's a good instructor, so I guess I'm looking. I live in the East Midlands. Generally the stables are quite expersive around here, but you get the odd cheapies like the one Grace boards at :3

Just had my first jumping lesson. I do NOT miss the english saddle. >:C

I was so scared I was going to fall off and it didn't help that Hugo tripped and almost fell over, oh and did I mention we were lunge lining and I wasn't using any reins? But anyways, so my instructor had to keep convincing me to imagine I was in the western saddle. Because truth is, I ride no differently except for I'm using two hands and don't have a saddle horn.

I also need to buy breeches, since my jeans were pinching my legs in the saddle, and were going to buy an excercise ball so I can learn to squeeze with my knees to help support myself out of the saddle.

As much hard work as this is going to be, I heard once I get the hang of it all it's really fun.
