Sorry I haven't been posting, guys!
Anyway, Luz del Dia has been amazing. I'm really coming along with the whole Spanish-style thing.
I also learned Luz's background story.
Apparently he was a "mistake", he was never meant to happen. But some dumb stablehand left his father in a field of mares and... you know. They managed to get him out before he'd mated with any. Or so they thought.
La de da, time went by, Luz was born. Now, as it happened, both his mother and father were quite spirited horses. So he turned out, in a word, mad. (As in crazy mad, not anger management mad.) The trainers couldn't train him, he was too aggressive. So he was sent here after a few years (he's now 4) and he's an absolute angel. <3 Here's a picture of him, he's beautiful! You see that dappling? OHMYGOSH <3
Anyway, Shadow is getting to like him. Or rather, hate him a little less. Today she managed a whole three minutes without snapping at him. <3 The owners of our stable want a cross between an Andalusian and a Lipizzaner and those two would be perfect.
Only problem is getting them to not-hate each other before Shadow goes into heat. <3

I have decided that I no longer want to be on Chicken Smoothie. I have become too infatuated with the site. No, I am not giving away free pets; they will all go to the Pound or to good CS friends of mine.
Bye, CS!

It's so cold where I am right now. last few days, it's just been cold frost :c Usually I ride in a T-shirt; today I rode in two shirts and a jacket too. It could at least snow >.>

Anyway, on a less complaining-about-the-stupid-not-snowing-but-cold-weather, and on a more horsey topic, I had another lesson today! Huray!

As it was freezing *grumble mumble*, we got out into the arena 20 mins before the lesson started, with a light rug over Grace's back and saddle, and walked around in-hand, to loosen and warm up.
When I got on and my instructor came-out, we started off in walk, working on outline and contact mostly (Grace and I have gotten into a few bad habits over winter-that's-mean't-to-snow-but-dosen't...). Once we'd got that sorted, we went up to trot, and as Grace acts like she's half-mule, and dosen't want to do anything, we decided to stick her on a lunge line with me on her and get the schooling whip.
We wanted Grace to be more responsive to the leg. So we did walk-trot transsions at first (having to use the schooling whip to encourage her on), until she was going up to trot with just a squeeze. Then we did halt-trot transsions (from standing still, straight into trot). We had no problem with these, much to my instructor's surprize. After that, we finished with a brief canter.
During the lesson, Grace had of course thrown bucks and everything, but that was all okay. The lesson actually went on for an hour and a half instead of just an hour, but we still payed £10 for it, so that was great!
