I took Cherry Bomb out for a ride, just to exercise her. And apparantly she spooks. Real easy -.-. One of our cats jumped out from the brush onto our path, and Cherry freaked OUT. She reared on me and I went crashing right off her. Bummed up my tail bone real good might I add, so when I of course screamed like a little girl she got even more scared and took off. I sat there for a minute, and Malachy came storming over, because he thought I was hurt xD. - Never seen that man run so fast in my life. - We ended up chasing Cherry Bomb through our little woods we got at the back of our house, and with me complaining about my butt the entire time xD. I'm lucky I didn't hit my head.. I wasn't wearing a helmet o3o.
I learned a lesson today.
Don't let the cat near the horse.

Never scream when you have a spooked horse, just like what you said, she just took off.
Never scream, just try to calm yourself down by taking 10 deep breaths in and out.
Also you should ALWAYS wear a helmet no matter how well trained that horse is, accidents can still happen.

sorry to sound rude but if you hurt yourself real bad your gonna scream.Sometimes its not easy as taking deep breaths,i fell off and screamed because i couldnt feel anything waist downwards,i was paralyized for about 3 weeks. And its her choice if she wants to ride in a helmet or not.

That's not nice when a horse rears :c
But as Smile said, wear a helmet always.
I was jumping Grace onco, and she spooked just after landing, and galloped sideways, bucking. I came off and landed on my head. I'd been wearing a helmet, but I still got terrible concussion - it might have killed me if I hadn't been wearing one. So yeah, be careful.

Yes it is her choice, but its more safe to ride in a helmet, that way she has more protection when she falls off, and also so that she doesn't hurt any brain cells in a big fall.

I have insurance due to riding a horse that's prone to bucking (yes he has been looked at by vet he is just cheeky) so I have to wear a helmet or my insurance is invalid. Plus you should always wear one anyway. Motor cyclists wear one and what they ride doesn't have a brain of its own. :)
btw Mandy-Lou22 is soooo amazing wanna give her a massive hug
also thank you to Asura for giving me my dream pet
also thank you to AiraSkylar for giving be the 08 advent of my dreams
another thank you to ~Amberleaf~ who gave me 3 free rares!

You should also never run after the horse. Slowly go up to it and catch it. Running is just going to spook the horse more

^ The horse ran off. You have to run after it because it moves quickly, can get hurt, and can cause trouble. If you horse was a few hundred feet away and running into a backyard, you wouldn't just start walking and hoping it doesn't leap over a fence (not to mention the horse also has tack on), would you?

Well, perfect time to say "Yeehaw!". Silly cats... they can be such troublemakers.... It sounds like you have a fun ride. Get an ice pack, gal, you deserve it. ;)

She was in pain, it was perfectly legitimate to scream, even if she knew it wasn't right. Yeah, she should have worn a helmet, but I compete against barrel racers that don't wear helmets. Hooray.

Agreed. Run after it, but slow down as you approach, because equally, if you charge right up to it, the horse will probaly spook more.

Grrrr. I'm so annoyed with one of the horses at the yard.
He's a halflinger pony, about 6yrs old - so not that young. But he's SUCH a weird horse, behaviour-wise: He's like a child constantly wanting attention. He's been put in paddocks with variouse other horses, and all he does is constantly bug them - it's like someone poking you over and over. But nipping and pushing them out of the way instead of poking - it gets super annoying after a while.
So, you begin to think he's just being a bossy "Head-of-the-herd". But in fact, he's very shy, insecure, unintelligent, spooks at everything, isn't at all brave and has no manners. And the minute another horse turns around and stands up to him, he runs away.

What makes me dislike him even more, is that Gracie was tied up next to his stable this evening, by the door. He was inside his stable eating. She was just standing there, and he suddenly spun around and lunged at her for NO reason at all! Grace pulled her head back to get out of the way, and scraped her head against the wall, and now she has a great big graze across her eye. It was lucky the eye itself didn't get damaged!
I've lost patience with this horse, big-time now...

Well, my trainer refers a horse as a "four year old for life". (:
