Re: Do You Ride Horses? Fresh Thread

Yep! ^_^ Seriously. But, we've stopped riding at his stables because it closed down and was transformed into a golf course ... How stupid is that?

I used to ride once a week for like three hours. It was pretty awesome, but, because of what I said above, it's really difficult to get a place to ride that's not too expensive ...

Oh boy, look at me trying to be all fancy with my signature.
Nope. Not going according to plan.
Think I'll just leave it here.

How much a week do you ride and for how long?

I've been riding, what the barn owner calls "officially" for about a year now. I've ridden all my life, but never taken lessons or anything. So, honestly, I don't have much experience. I try to learn everything I can from others. I'm so surprised at how far Rowdy has come in elven or so months. Anyway, I try to ride everyday for about an hour, and I usually do.

When I do ride, I ride all day. (Work) In July I was at the barn for 11 days straight.
Even if you don't come all the time, you can get an all day lesson for $75, or go to a 4 day overnight camp for $350. (Stay at the stables, ride 3 times a day, or more, go on midnight rides, etc)
That being said, if you live in Wisconsin and are looking for a good horse camp...

cool! If you ever want more information, just P.M. me. It's super fun. You get your own horse for the week, and get to see what it's like to own your own horse. And they book fast. I think next year is already booking.

As for the drive, we've had people come from Chicago and Milwaukee for camp. That means driving all the way across the state.

Yeah, Once we drove all the way to florida from here just to see our grandparents ;P We also drive 12 hours to Michigan sometimes to visit our cousins. Four hours is nothing for us.

Oh my gosh cool! We found a camp near our house like that, but it was like, $2,000 dollars!

Thats true, but I am still not sure if I am switching. I need to ask my parents and see if they like the stable. First we would check out the stable, because it may not be different from where I ride now ^^

Haha yeah, at my stable they have a halfy too, he is adorable. He is fat too <3 I showed him in May and he we got a blue and pink <333 He brought my may first ribbon. I love you Hap~

About the lease: Wow! I emalied the mare's owner, and guess what? She is already at my barn! Her name is Kahlua. My friend, Leslie, had apparently seen the same ad and my trainer trailered her out to our barn so we could all try her out! 8D Maybe I'll do a lesson with her sometime. Her biggest issue is rushing at jumps. I think my friend tried her, but I'm not sure if she worked out or not.

My barn's website still isn't up. :3 When it finally does make it, you'll see a few pictures of Uman and I most likely.
I LOVE my barn. Everyone is super nice, and we all help each other out. My trainers are wonderful. They are always on time or early for lessons. Usually if you have a private lesson, you are expected to be in the ring around 10-20 minutes early to warm yourself up if you are jumping. For group lessons, yous should be in 10 minutes early.
Also, they really take care of the horses. We are required to give the horses are full curry and brush down before riding. If they aren't clean enough when we get in the ring, we are required to take them back and brush them off again. :3 Also, we make sure to do the horse's stretches.
After every time we ride we are also expected to clean off the bit, wipe off all tack, and figure eight our bridles.

I love my barn, it is organized, welcoming, and a really fun place to be <3

My favoret horse if s halfy:D
His names Aristotle of the Turtle Walk, or Ari. Hes about 14.3 hands and a very deep gold color.
Ari's just not ready for shows yet. Im still training him, but I might take him to a poles or Hunter Jumper show if hes ready. He was being traained for Dressage, but could probly doa few Hunter poles or Crossrails.
im ready for some more show jumping shows, but since hes not, thats fine(:
