You can ride her bareback with just a halter... the owner is going to college and wants someone to give her some love and a ride every week, so I'm emailing her! 8D EXCITEMENT.
How do you even find a lease as good as that?!
So, once again when I was waiting for my trainer to come for my lesson, my Mom started talking to someone about leasing. You all remember Slim? Yeah, the people we talked to contacted his owners about it. Slim sounds like a wonderful horse, they said he's about as layed back and well trained as most horses can get. He sounded nice, and I had seen him once while getting Poco. He's a BEAUTIFUL bay with some white on his face. He's not horrible out of shape, but looks a little chubby and might have some weak rear end muscles since it looks kind of droopy. It all sounded perfect! Problem? He's a english riding horse... I just started werstern again and I'm in love. I have wanted to jump though and they said I could train the horse to jump probably, also he has one of the smoothest backs I've ever seen on a horse so bareback would seen fun. I'd be leasing Poco for a year though before Slim was even an option.
What is your guys input? Switch over to Slim while his owners are at college, and maybe start jumping? Or stay with Poco for a year or two and stick to western.
