Aww, he sounds so sweet! I've never met a horse that enjoys having his girth tightened, though. xD Imax tried to bite me when I tightened his. I could hardly get it on the first hole, we have no giant horse tack. I had to use my trainer's huge Hanoverian's bridle, and I had to make it even bigger to fit his head. o.e

He sounds like a good horse, actually. xD Big and muscular is great, out of shape horses (coughcoughImax) wear me out. I used to ride a horse with one eye, Bay. He was a great boy, but you had to talk to him a lot.

Which college is it that you want to go to? Because I also really want to ride in college :3 Hopefully I will be good enough...
I have a couple colleges that I know have good equestrian teams that I want to go to :)

Mulligan, you make my world go round and I can't stand to see you go.
I'm going to miss you like crazy and I love you to pieces.
You are the love of my life and will always occupy a huge portion of my heart.
I want you to know how much I love you, and our 6 months together have been the best 6 months of my life.
You have been a dream come true and I have been on cloud nine since we first met.
I will never forgot all of the amazing times we've had together.
Enjoy your new home and promise me this, that you will never forget me, as I will never forget you.

@Missy, Gamzee, and Christine: Yes, William Woods is it! 8D Great place <3 Very near where I live too. I'm going to camp there next summer, you get to stay in the dorms and ride the epic horses every day.

You guys should check it out <3 I'm sure Gamzee has already heard of it/seen it, right? :p I really want to go there and become a riding instructor/barn manager/barn owner like my trainers.

@Altered: Same here. Well, when I started riding Uman, he was pretty out of shape, wiggly, and with a weak butt. I've worked him all summer and now he is much more uphill, hardly wiggly, and with a muscular butt x3 My trainers lunge him with the cavvesson all the time to strength his butt. I'm not allowed to lunge him because he charges his lunger a lot...
Summer is a butt. D:< She is a lazy little 4 year old, wiggles everywhere, doesn't bend easily, hates corners, takes forever to pick up the canter, hardly gets the correct lead, etc. etc. But she can be fun after you work with her a bit, although she really tires me out quickly. Especially getting the left canter lead. So. Hard.
Imax is out of shape and wiggly, but his mouth is soft as butter. I got him on the bit within minutes of our first ride. o.O He is also responsive to the bit. The snaffle we use on him is one of those massive loose ring french mouths, I believe, but it is HUGE so very nice to the horse. But he is so lazy that it drives me insane, and he can't do very much at the moment because he needs to build more muscle and gain more stamina.

Today I was going around a tree,as if it was a barrel. He would trot, and I think I got him to a gallop, but not for long.He remembered doing barrels, you could tell.
He was being lazy some though,I had rode him a lot yesterday, and today. So yeah.

So, I read HI's article on Hafies. Dude, now I want one so badly! Does anyone know/ has anyone seen a good barrel racing Haflinger? Apparently they can do that. How well, I don't know. (I don't want to hear the QH and Draft mumbo jumbo, since I know QH's are the best racers and that Haflingers are NOT draft horses.)

Just gotta mark.

I need to fill out the profile, but I don't know my favourite horse! There's Candace, who was put down, Diesel, my appy boy, Monster, the gentle giant, and MJ, the perfect gal. How am I to choose!

I have a lesson tonight, so I'll try to get pictures of Diesel, Monster and MJ.

EDIT: There's a Halflinger and my barn, his name's Willy, and he's so fat and out of shape, no offence. He'll hardly move half the lesson, but start jumping and he'll bolt without a seconds notice. I almost fell off him once when he was in one of his moods.

I see a lot of overweight Hafies, perhaps they have metabolic issues?

In the article there are Hafies doing dressage and Cross country on a national level. Perhaps it just depends on genetics and the lifestyle?
