And yes Therian, there are only beagles, but it may be from selective breeding they attained a style of beagle and labeled it, but if they are just Beagles crossed with Dachshunds, then its a mutt.

Any hound color means like Red, Tricolor, Bluetick, Bicolor, and Merle I believe.

Ive been browsing sites just now, and merle is not listed in any of the ones Im seeing, but blue and red ticking are. I hate how AKC makes everything so vague in their standards *is frustrated*

"Purebred beagles do not come in merle. Anyone making such a claim has probably introduced another breed into their beagle lines (such as dachshund), or has bought a puppy from a breeder that has done so. This practice is seen in the so-called "pocket beagles," where small dog breeds have been crossbred with beagles to reduce size. In addition to introducing non-beagle colors, this also introduces health problems found in those other breeds."

Just found this quote ^^

Sorry! I'm not really familiar with Beagles, but I knew hound colors. I assumed merle because of the Catahoula Leopard Dog.

I wasnt mad xD Lol so I dont think a Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle can be a purebred, there has to be some crossbreeding in there

Yup, everywhere I'm looking says Beagle x Mini Doxie, which explains the brindle and merle which are NOT hound colors but do appear in dachshunds (dapple being the word for merle there). Beagles can be tricolored, open marked, and ticked with any dilutions appearing such as chocolate, liver, blue, lemon, etc.

Leopard dogs are not hounds but curs. They're incorrectly called hounds sometimes because they're used as hunting dogs, but that'd be like me calling a retriever a hound just cause they hunt too. :P

I don't want to be picky but retrievers don't hunt. They retrieve. Yes they are game dogs. They retrieve animals that have been shot.
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

Catahoulas are an all-purpose farm/hunting/working dog :3 And yes merling is not the same as ticking even if it appears similiar, different genes back it. I know it impossible for a purebred borzoi to be merled (even though the standard allows it) but they are very often ticked
