Formally known as the Jack Russell Terrier, the Parson Russell name is now recognized by the American Kennel Club.

The Parson Russell Terrier is the actual name of JRT, as the man who bred them was 'Parson Jack Russell'.

And it isn't a cross, I saw a picture similar to it in my dog book while looking for harder breeds.
