I want to raise awareness for gape worms.we recently lost a red cochin to it.To prevent it you must give them wormer.
Sypmtoms:snot coming out of nostrils open mouthed breathing not being active or just acting different from thier normal.

We worm our chickens also, but we havn't had a promblem with them. Atleast not yet anyways. We have more of a problem with lice/mites. Last year my favorite hen, a wheaten old english named Nala died because she had so many lice and mites on her. And we had even treated her for them only a week before that happened.

We wormed ours but our "farm hand" forgot to give them wormer while i was at a horse training convention.So when i got back she died three days later and also we had a hen we had no idea what kind she was, she had an impacted crop and we were in the process of healing it and I came home from my friends house and her crop had busted and she was dead.I can't post pictures yet as I am at my grandma's.

The hen with an impacted crop was black with little brown triangles and she had a little white spot on the tip of her tail, she was sweet layed medium sized brown eggs and was quite large she was my best (chicken)friend

We just sold our mille fleur cochin chick yesterday. So now my pen of 4 crazy mealworms lovers has became only 3 crazy mealworms lovin chicks XD Oh Well

I'm selling silkies at a poultry swap on the 25. Tomorrow I'm going to one in paris, KY to try and find a white jersey giant rooster and some quail antwerp belgian bantam hens.

Cool! We just went through our blue, black, splash ameraucana pen and we took 17 of them out to sell. Tomorrow we are going to do the lavender ameraucanas I think so.
