And perhaps to discourage and avoid unintentional breedings, couldn't breeders have rabbits spayed/neutered before selling or giving away the ones they choose not to show/breed? That seems like an obvious answer to me. Keeps 'bad' lines from going on, prevents uneducated owners from ending up with rabbits because they didn't know information like sexual maturity, sex of their rabbits, gestation period, etc. Sure, in many cases a pet bunny won't meet another pet bunny that might get it pregnant, but if you feel that does play a large role, are breeders doing something to prevent that?

Feeling kind of sad about that, but still glad for that one baby. Maybe it'll be like it's oldest sister, only one in the litter but one of the best rabbits I've ever had. =P You can bet it'll be a spoiled one when it's older just like Kyla was, haha.

~Serenade~ wrote:Hello everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself as I'll probably be asking a lot of questions soon.
I'm fairly new to rabbits (Though I own and know a good bit about guinea pigs) but I've done lots of research about them. I'll be temporarily caring for a friend's rabbit who is disabled along with his cage mate. Both are male dwarf rabbits.
