My dad use to neuter cows on his farm, it doesn't cost that much. If you know anyone who has experience with rabbits, I'd ask them first because you know them. Some vets just like to rip people off and the bunny doesn't get treated properly and dies because the vets just wanted your money and doesn't care for your bunny/do their job properly, and others do nothing and say they did tests and then charge you like $200 dollars for a dead bunny.

Some rabbits just go through a phase where they're feeling lazy. For my bunny the older he gets, the lazier, which is normal because when you get older, you don't want to do as much.

I...there's so many things wrong with that post I dont know where to begin.

Right, first, if you cant afford vetinary care, then dont get the animal.

Seccond, vets that 'rip people off and dont treat the animals properly' should be avoided like the plague. Albeit, you wont always know what a practice is like untill you've had experiance with them, but if you feel like your animal hasnbt been given proper treatment/has been misdiagnised, then take it somewhere else.

Thirdly, you cant say they did nothing unless you have proof they did nothing.

I'm not quite sure what to make of the 'charge 200 dollars for a dead bunny' comment.

First off, I believe I can take care of a rabbit. All he needs is to be neutered. I didn't say that he's dying or anything, because then we WOULD go to the vet no matter how much it costs. I didn't say that I couldn't afford it, I said that the price was outrageous to take off a bunny's reproductive system.

Second, yes I know you should avoid them like a plague. But there are places that seem really nice but they aren't. It's the way the world works, you trust someone who seems nice and they screw you over. Apparently rabbits are "exotic" animals even though they are fairly common pets, which I find stupid. It's a rabbit, not a tiger. It doesn't cost that much.

Thirdly, yes I know that it's hard to get proof, but that doesn't mean that they really did anything.

The $200 comment was based on real experiences. My mom had to pay about that much for a dead bird because it was sick and she took it to the vet. They KNEW they couldn't save the parakeet [they're love birds, one dies the other does too...it's a 15 dollar bird] so they did tests anyways, it died, they charged my mom like 100 bucks. Also, I had to get X-rays for my Rabbit Spot [she's been dead for almost 3-4 years now, I still get heart-ache over it]. Turns out she had to be euthanized because she broke her back [freak accident basically] and we had to pay almost 200 bucks for that too.

So basically if your rabbit dies [or any animal] they still charge you.

I would appreciate if you didn't label me as a bad owner and tell me that I shouldn't get a pet. I CAN afford to take care of them. I CAN take them to the vet, I'm not paying 400 bucks to get my rabbit neutered when it should only cost around 40-50. I CAN get vaccinations for them, and get the necessities that they need. In-fact, Obi [my rabbit] is spoiled rotten.

Also, don't put words in my mouth. I don't like it for a very personal reason. "So many things wrong in this post" my arse. There's stuff wrong in your post too, so I wouldn't be such a hypocrite. I just don't point it out as often because I try to be nice.

If you feel the need to get your point across, PM me.

he won't move and he'll just stay in the same place for hours, I'm concerned because he isn't eating as well. I searched on the internet and it said he might have a broken back and rabbits don't last long with broken back (that just makes my day worst) so i run my finger down his back and i don't feel any broken bones. My mum thought he just tired because he just wouldn't move, can anyone help me?
[snip]

Take him to the vet if this isn't normal for him.

Oh.. wait he's moving again but only eating not as much as he would do but im just going to wait until tomorrow and see how he does hopefully he's back to himself and thanks for the help

In all this sounds like intestinal blockage to me. Our rabbits run into this a lot as we have thick-furred buns who get wool block. What I do is give them pineapple, or papaya as it helps their digestive tract.

If you notice he isn't defecating then you'll want to bring him to a vet, if you can afford it. If he's moving then it's highly unlikely he has a broken spine.

If he's back to himself shortly then I'd assume it was a blockage, and just try giving him a small chunk of papaya (the dehydrated kind without added sugar is great) with each feeding. It should help out, hopefully!
Reality is subjective.

I have 2 harlequins, 3 polish, 1 hotot, and satin. The hotot and one polish are due tomorrow. So soon to be more! x3 I've been considering getting rid of the larger breeds though, they're just so much harder for me to handle, and they eat more, and I have to clean out their pens more. It's just kind of a pain. x.x

That's a lot of bunnies! My parents would definitely say no to having a second one. XD I agree on the bigger bunny problem. Obi is a lot bigger than Spot, messier, and needs his little mansion cleaned out a lot more [he has a 2 story cage].

My first rabbit, Spot, was a mini-rex. They're so clean and tidy! Obi on the other hand is a big mess. .-.
