Anyone having trouble with rabbits damaging things should google for "rabbit proofing" or "bunny proofing". Especially when it comes to wires it's extremely important to keep those safe from rabbits, as the rabbit can get severely burned or electrocuted by chewing wires. It's not just a matter of expenses, but the rabbit's health.

One thing I can think of at the top of my head is hard plastic tubes, cut it down the length and slip the wires in it. http://www.sandiegorabbits.org/behavior ... ofing.html for example has some other ideas and tips (and includes pictures). For chewing on things and peeing in beds, block off the items being chewed on and make sure that the rabbit can't get up on the bed.
When there's nothing left to burn you have to set yourself on fire.

Everyone are entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts.

Whoops I wandered off to Flight Rising instead. There on account #7153.

Awh! Winter doesn't chew on any "normal" bun toys besides willow balls. Once I filed a toilet paper tube with hay and pellets. She munched on half of it tne left the rest to rot... Never chewed on cardboard again don't know why LOL. But seriously, willow weaved balls and she liked chewing on this one wicker basket but she flopped it into her litter box and peed on it so now it's soiled... weirdo. If I ever make her one of those things where you stuff hay and tiny pieces of their favorite fruit in a paper brown bag or something she just opens it and makes a mess trying to find her fruit. But she plays with the oddest things. I was using a roll of duct tape. There wasn't a lot of tape left, I turn my back for one esecond, look back around and she's tossing it in the air like "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!" (I took it back quickly though so nothing happened like chewing)

Winter also has a small cage so i'm trying to litterbox train her so she can have bigger space. It was going well. She has good litter box habits now but today i decided to clean up/bunny proof the extra bathroom we dont use that she's in to see if she could have more access there. Nothing happened except a couple stray droppings, but then she peed two times later. Maybe it's because her cage has a wire bottom floor and she thought there's no wire over here and didn't want to go backcin... I should probably put some cardboard over the wire if she's good enough /random ramblings

(sorry for any grammar mistakes I'm on a tablet and it's midnight)

I am absolutely FED UP with people who own rabbits (or any pet at that) and don't take care of them! I'll tell you a little true story about my neighbors rabbits and kids

Our neighboors are really close with my family, There is the mother, father and two small kids, the kids are 8 and 6 years old, the mother is best friends with my mom and my dad is best friends with the dad and i often babysit the kids.

They had 3 rabbits, a holland lop and two flemish giant cross breeds, Oreo[lop] Bella and Angel.

After the first week the lop passed away for no sudden reason, they were thinking she was sick, but she died

The rabbits are both living out in a tiny hutch in the shed, it seemed fine at first, the rabbits were well looked after the first month, and then i noticed after a while the rabbit dish would be empty for a few days in a row, same with the water dish.

Over the year it was the same thing, i'd often sneak over and feed them and you could tell they were hungry because they be trying to eat from it before i even had it layed in the hutch, because the kids NEVER look after them, i asked them once how were the bunnies doing and they had to think for a second because they forgot they had bunnies!

Two days ago Bella died, the parents said they didint know why We know why but, the kids said the same and they didint even bother to find out why.

Today while i was cleaning my hutch i had run out of clean chaff to put in so i remembered them once telling me if i ever needed rabbit food or chaff then just go over and get some [they make chaff so theres lots] When i went over i filled my bag with chaff then i looked in the hutch and i seen Angel just sat there, her food bowl tipped over, no water. I first picked her up, and when i did it broke my heart, all her bones were just sticking out under her skin and fur, you could feel her ribs, her hip bones were stuck out, her spine was stuck out complety and the poor little thing was limp, but yes alive. I almost cried, i cuddled her close and gave her kisses and cuddles then i put her back in, filled her food bowl, filled up 2 water bottles and put them in and then when i lifted the hutch roof it was just piles and piles of rabbit poop and pee, no chaff the cage was FILTHY. I came back over after and told dad, the rabbit was legit starving.

I just don't think they should have rabbits. for one, the kids are to young and have no responsibilty, they only care about their toys, the rabbits are rarely fed and watered and are never picked up or taken in the house half. To make it worse, even the parents don't take the time to tend to the bunnies.

This year the kids have lost 42 fish, 8 hampsters, 1 dog, 2 rabbits and a lizard, and then they cry for more pets and there parents buy it for them... it kills me to see it, and you can't even do anything about it because you don't want to offend them, but i'd do anything to take that rabbit and let her live with me, and feed her till she had some weight put on ):

You could always give an anonymous tip to your local authorities. But since your families are so close it could be difficult. Like you said you don’t want to offend them, but something should be done for the sake of the animals.

That's so sad! You shouldn't just sit there, you should call the humane society or something. That's horrifying. Like Glittermousebb said, an anonymous tip would be good.

E.urka Reading that made me very upset I would report them ASAP to the ASPCA if I were you friends or not. That's just horrible :!:  Those people don't need ANY animals. I'm a animal lover and a rabbit breeder and have over 20 rabbits none are sick, there houses are cleaned and their nice and healthy and have plenty of food and water. And I'm not rich mind you, there is absolutely NO excuse for letting any animal starve to death or be in filthy conditions. I'd like to throw them people in a tiny cage with not food and water for a couple of days and see how they like it :!:

Wow, thats just sick. They can't take two minutes of there day to feed and fill up there water bole.If I where you, even if you are close friends I would take the bunny in and bring it back to health. They do not seam to understand that animals need food, good care and love. You need to do some thing so they understand or else they will just continue and kill other helpless animals.
