Cross-Fingers that Lionheads get pass. I need to check if silver fox blue and chocolate pass.
I have bred few hollands and do know few Holland Lops. If you have a question I maybe able find answer.

Small breeds usual 5 month earliest Medium to Large breeds 7-9 months.
The kits are born 30- 35 days after breeding.
Babies start to wean 5-6 wks and safe to sell babies at 8 wks.
show rabbits you have ARBA site check breed rabbits choices and then follow Standard of prefection on that breed and that disqualified traits or to many faults sell off as pet quality.

Well, my rabbit ( That died !                                 ) had babies really early ( it was a male )

I think there isn't any age until it's tennager, it can be a parent.

My rabbit was called Pumpkin.. he died at the vet.... 1 week before his birthday ! ( 1 year old ) ! It was so unfair !

I love him sooooo much !

How long do rabbits live???/ Like in real life. Because i have a rabbit who is 16 years old and still hasnt died. I just want to be ready so that when i walk out side some day it isnt a surprise.
The girl you just called fat?... She is overdosing on diet pills. The girl you just called ugly?... She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her. The boy you just tripped?... He is abused enough at home. That guy you just made fun of for crying?... His mother is dying. Put this in your signature if you're against bullying. I bet 95% of you wont re-post, but I'm sure the people with heart and backbone will.

Thanks Bad Habit
I told one breeder friends about news she all excite both of us have been working Lionheads long time. I currently take break from LHs so I can focus on my Silver Foxs. I did buy myself a trio ofpolish from my breeder friends he is rank 3rd in Nation for his polish and MLs. I still have few mini-rex which hope sell off remain stock in few weeks at show plan head.
I have work Flemish, French Lops, Californians and Netherlands Dwarf.
I had a Belgian Hare, Jersey Wool, French Angora, Holland Lop, Hanvana, Dutch, Satin and Lion Lop. I believe cover breeds rabbits. I had or play with. I tend to get different breeds for our club for display and educations the public.
I sadly dianosed with mild allegries rabbits so I force to cut back rabbits. I have play different breeds to see what safe for me to have around because not ready give up on show rabbits.

Rabbits can live to be 15 years old if they are not bred and get spayed/neutered and are given top care. So if your rabbit is 16 years old give yourself a pat on the back for being a wonderful rabbit owner. :D I hope your rabbit has a few more happy years to come. ;)

"The longest-lived rabbit was caught from the wild on August 6, 1964,
and christened Flopsy. It died 18 years, 10 months, and 21 days later,
at the home of L.B. Walker of Longford, Tasmania, Australia."

I've been breeding rabbits for over a year now so let me see if I can answer your questions. ;)

1) Before you breed any rabbits you need to first be sure they are healthy and of the correct age. Small breed like mini rex, and Neverland dwarf can breed at 5 months (for males) and 6 months (for females). They can breed younger then this but it's not a great idea to rush breeding, young does may not fair too well with their kits if bred too young. Larger breed like the Silver fox or the Californian rabbit may take longer I'd breed them no younger then 6 months of age. Also make sure your doe has some wight on her, not over weight though. Even if a doe is of breeding age if she under weight she should not be bred. Find out what weight is normal for the type of rabbits you are going to breed. As for the males make sure to check to make sure his testis have dropped, because sometimes they never do.

2) More then likely if the buck and doe were healthy the kits will be too. When you breed your rabbits always mark the time and date down so you'll know when to expect the kits. A rabbit will give birth in 30-35 days after breeding if she took. 5-3 days before she is due give her lots of hay and a nest box so that she can make a nest. When the babies are born make sure you check to make sure all the kits are alive and well. Sometimes kits are born dead and have to be removed asap or the dead body will make the healthy ones sick. A Doe may be over protective over her kits and try to bite your hand off but just gently hold her back or move her to a spot while you quickly check on them. Cleaning out the nesting box is a must! A lot of does find that the nesting box is a great place to pee and poo. Some even pee on the kits~ :silent: Some does though will never do this and will keep the nesting box very clean. Make you give the mother all the food she wants, this will help her to have lots of milk to feed her kits.

3) Baby rabbits should at lest be 6 weeks old before they go to their new homes some breeders wait until they are 8-12 weeks though. Either way is fine but make sure they are eating well on their own. And don't feed them ANY green stuff only feed them hay and pelts.

4) Each rabbit breed has standers that the ARBA follows. So depending on what kind you are breeding you will need to find out what is "Show quality type" for that breed. As for pets rabbits there are no rules as far as personally appearance goes. But manly people are going to want a rabbit that has a good temperament which means - No biting, scratching and other aggressive behavior. A nice calm rabbit that is friendly and curious would sell a lot faster then one that is shy and runs and hides when you try and pet it. Keep that in mind when breeding traits good or bad can be passed on to the babies.

I hope this helps you out some.

That was very helpful, thank you very much. My rabbits are all over the age of 6 months now, but I'll probably wait to breed them for Easter Babies. I'm glad that my rabits seem to fit into the perfect level for breeding, they are all a healthy weight and very sweet. They are also health and well taken care of. Thanks again

Usually when does go that long, they deliver dead kits, so prepare yourself. None of my breedings have ever gone past day 31 without kindling, although a couple of my litters have been surprises, so don't know exactly how long she carried them.
