Please look at this forum viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1975128

99% of all girls would scream and die if one direction jumped in front of a moving train. post this to your signiture if your the 1% that would get popcorn and laugh watching that.

Maxime and her babies were a rescue/relinquish - her owner was overwhelmed, and didnant to deal with raising and selling the babies. I was told she was a purebred lionhead, however she is over 7lbs, and lionheads aren't supposed to be over 3.5lbs. She was outcrossed somewhere. I'm not sure what I'll do with her yet. She's currently in quarantine.

When USA first import Lionheads they were much bigger BUT due to Lionhead strong DMG alot people cross with other breeds and pawn of as Lions. Just let you know Lionhead are still a breed on development and has not pass been pass ARBA as a show breed. Many breeders who are try get unique breed pass.

Lol I am well aware of the history of lionheads, thank you. As far as why I think Maxime was crossbred, other than her large size, her ears are far too big for the SOP(should be no more than 3.5"), they are more pointed than rounded, and her body is not built correctly. I was told that her parents and her siblings were all the same size as her.

While lionheads are not yet fully recognized, they are able to be shown in exhibition, and cannot earn legs. However the COD was presented today at the ARBA Convention in Kansas, but I have yet to find the results online.

As far as lionheads being much bigger when first imported, I'm not sure where you've gotten that information. The BRC SOP on Lionheads states the same weight as the Working Standard for the ARBA. People have been breeding lionheads with Netherlands Dwarfs to maintain small size. Others have been breeding them with larger breeds to create a "giant lionhead", which IMO is much like the creation of designer dogs.

I have a mini satin rabbit. I go her for christmas and she has lived forever. She is pure black and very, very soft, hence the breed. She has black eyes and black paws and she is shedding her fur for summer so there is black fuzballs everywhere. One time she fell of a metre ledge and screamed, literally. Has this happened to anyone else :?:

I will answer everyone later but not I just have a quick question. I think somebody already answered this. anyways can my rabbit eat quick oats? I've been recently mixing some in with his normal feed. If not I'll ween him off until I can give him some that are good for him. Thanks :)

I feed rolled oats, not quick oats... Quick oats are treated to cook quickly. There is some debate as to if they are as good for rabbits as the rolled oats, but I figure it's better safe than sorry, and just buy rolled oats(old fashion kitchen oatmeal, not the fast cooking kind).
