If you are trying to say that 'scientists' say foxes are domestic - links please? Sounds like you are making that up, to me.
Do you know what 'domestic' means? No scientist would claim a fox to be domestic.... it's a fact that they aren't.
Also to everyone saying 'cry'..... if the posters parents say NO, that means NO. And I hope they have because this is a wild animal and should NOT be kept as a so called 'pet'!

Domesticatign foxes? LOLOLOLOL
No.
Your dad is smart. A baby fox- which will grow up into a larger, adult fox, I hope you're aware, is not a good pet. Sure, there are people who own wild animals. But if they're raising the animals properly, they have spent quite a deal of money($1000s of dollars), and are spending a great deal of time making sure they're comfortable, and in most cases they aren't.
What will you feed it? Dog food? Uhm, no. Foxes are wild animals. They need to have a proper diet, failure to do so can result in big problems.
Oh, and food is just a small problem when you add up all the other expensives you'll need. Space? Shelter? Where would you keep it? In your house? Good luck with that. Unless you have a pretty huge yard, that animal will not be abloe to feel comfortable or safe. It will get restless and likely be drawn mad.
If you ever want to get a fox- or any wild animal, for that matter- you'll need to do a great deal of research. And no, I don't mean looking up "caring for foxes" on Google and looking at three pages of a website. I mean serious, reliable sources- whether it be experts, books, etc, and years of research and consideration.

Just take the poor animal to a wildlife center. Are you really so selfish you'd rather have the animal in your home and have it suffer, or will you take him to a center where he will be cared for with great care from people who actually know what they're doing?
(And, for whatever reason you can't take him to a wildlife center, release him back into the wild, right where you found him. It's better than having him confined in a tiny, stuffy house.)

i think you should turn him/her in to a widlife center... call an organization. he might die in your captivity...(no offense or anything)... you just should not try to take care of a wild animal. :?: :!: :?: :!: :what:

I think it's kind of sad you were able to say everything I said in four sentences, and it took me four paragraphs.

On a serious note... is she(the maker of this thread) even replying anymore? Because if she isn't, I think we all may be wasting our breath. : /

My parents for one aren't that soppy. But that's beside the point, shouldn't this wild animal, found in the wild, evolved to be wild... Be given the chance to return and live in the wild..?

To be straight to the point any parent that gives into that is really stupid and clueless about wild animals.
Parent says no, it should be no, even if your kid goes 'waaah'.

what will i call it if it`s a boy? Tod
what will i call it if it`s a girl? Roxy
how can i convince my dad to keep him? Cry and lay down reasons y its a good thing to keep it. If all else fails, try your mom.

nobody knows how domestication works.
you take a calm animal and breed to another calm, you do it again with more animals.
you don't take a wild animal and turn it into a mushmush.
