Best way to bathe and trim a cats nails?

Postby slccat » Wed Jun 02, 2021 6:58 am

I recently got a kitten (currently 8 months old) and I am unsure on how to properly trim her nails and give her a bath. My old cat was declawed (not my choice, we adopted her like that) and she took baths perfectly.

Our new kitten, Bell, is struggling with everything. When we try and trim her nails, she puts up the worst fight and scratches and bites. We tried covering her eyes and using more than one person, and we are very careful to not get the skin in the nails.

When we try and bathe her it's like a scene from a horror movie. It is basically impossible to do either without her attacking us out of fear. We are very careful and calm but Bell is terrified. I'm about to the point of getting her taken care of professionally. Is there anything we can do to make it easier at home?

Thank you!
