Hi everyone!
I've recently been purchasing new toys to get ready for when I get pet rats. I purchased these cat jingle balls and was wondering if they are safe? They don't have bells inside - just a smaller ball with an even tinier ball that rattles a little bit. I don't think there's a way to remove the rattle ball without breaking the toy, so if they're unsafe, should I just throw them away?

Perfectly safe. I had the ones with jingle balls in the middle. The balls were far too big to be swallowed by them, so its no worries! Good luck on getting some ratties!

Thank you so much! I was kinda worried, as this will be my first time having pet rats.

I wish rats had so many awesome colors as mice. It's not fair.

whilst it is unfortunate, it's nice that mice have so many diverse patterns, colours and general appearances. if this was spread out to all rodents, then it truly wouldn't make mice as special as they are.

How many rats do you own;;3 (2F and 1M
What brought you to the rat thread;;always looking for more advice
Do your rats know any tricks;;nope but they love to climb on my arm. Except one she is very shy and especially difficult to work with treats or not though she will greet she won’t go pass the door :(

Question my wife and I have 2 younger rats and added a female that was a few mo older after a few weeks of them being near each other and meeting one another in the tub. Our larger female seems to bully the other 2. We got her from the pet store and the other 2 as weanlings who have been worked with daily. We give them mental stimulation and encourage fouraging and other behavior to encourage mental stimulation. These rodents are given nesting material to decrease level of disputes and their cage is full of enrichment yet they fight at night though no blood. Yes our male is with our female we are trying to breed but so far no luck and he too is bullied by the newer female even though they are now about the same size (advice on both matters would be great).
Thank you for reading its greatly appreciated and if anyone else has this issues maybe we could chat about it.^^
